🌟 A Must-Visit for Indian Food Lovers in Dar es Salaam! 🌟 I visited Sampann Restaurant in Dar es Salaam while I was traveling through Tanzania with a group of friends. Craving authentic Indian food, we decided to give it a try — and I must say, it was one of the best decisions of the trip!
We started with the Chicken Lasooni Kebab, which was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. For the mains, we ordered Chicken Kadhai, Butter Chicken, and Chicken Tikka Achari Masala — each dish was a masterpiece. And as someone who has traveled to over 50 countries, I can confidently say the Butter Chicken at Sampann is the best I’ve ever had — rich, creamy, and full of authentic taste.
The garlic naan, especially the chilli garlic naan, was incredibly soft, perfectly baked, and complemented the curries beautifully. The food was medium spiced, flavorful, and full of depth, exactly how Indian cuisine should be.
To add to the experience, the service was warm and attentive. A big thank you to Mr. Pankaj for his hospitality — he made us feel truly welcome. It was also a pleasure meeting the chef, who took time to understand what we were looking for and delivered exactly that.
For vegetarians, there’s even a pure veg restaurant right next door, owned by the same team — a thoughtful touch!
🔁 Highly recommended to anyone visiting Dar es Salaam and craving quality Indian food. Will definitely return on my next visit!

The service was poor now and we surely have to change the review here.... Recommend better go to Chowpatty Or Mast, both restaurants are on walking distance from Sampann, just that they are...
Read moreSo, I finally decided to step out of my comfort zone and dive into Indian food—with my girlfriend as my adventurous partner. We picked this spot, and honestly, best decision ever! I had no clue what to order (because, let’s be real, the menu is a mystery for Indian food newbies). So, I asked the waitress for help, and she didn’t just give me a suggestion, she basically gave me a flavor tour! She brought out Dal Tadka and Shahi Paneer, a veggie combo that was out of this world. I was in foodie heaven. Long story short, if you’re thinking of trying Indian food for the first time, this is the place to do it. You’ll leave with a full belly and a...
