PLEASE READ THIS REVIEW CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BOOK. Worst experience I’ve ever had — misleading rooms, poor hygiene, hidden charges, and intimidating behavior When I went to the Golden Tulip, they first told me they didn’t have a room. I checked online while standing there and suddenly there were many rooms available, so I booked one room with two beds. After that, they still gave us a room with one bed only. I told them I booked for two beds, but they said this is the only room and if I don’t like it, I can leave. I asked to speak to the manager and requested an extra bed; only then did they add it. Inside the bathroom we found a cockroach. In the fridge they put water and snacks, but no one told us these would cost money. At checkout, I went to pay for the restaurant charges and suddenly I saw an extra $47 added. They said it was for room service/minibar. They also said there was a paper in the room explaining this. I went back and looked carefully. There were many papers in the room with instructions and details—who reads all of that on vacation?—but I didn’t find anything clearly saying we had to pay for the snacks if we ate them. I called them and asked them to show me the notice. They came and, guess what, there was a very small paper hidden above the fridge. How is anyone supposed to see that? I told them no one informed me and I can’t pay for something that wasn’t clearly shown. We were in the middle of the night and had a 5:00 a.m. flight. I asked them to call the manager. They said the manager was sleeping and if I wanted to talk to him, I had to wait until 9:00 a.m. I told them we had a flight, but they didn’t listen. The staff then acted in a way that felt aggressive and intimidating. They took our luggage and put it in the office, and we couldn’t take it back while the dispute continued. We called the police after they started to attack us and they hurted me, and they threatened us with a gun, but it was late and they took time to arrive. In the end, we paid the money just to get our bags and leave for the airport. This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. My advice: do not go there. I have photos to support what happened. Choose another place and stay safe.

Golden Tulip Dar City Center - A Wonderful Stay! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Golden Tulip Dar City Center, and I couldn't be more delighted with my experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The staff was exceptionally friendly and went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable. Their professionalism and attentiveness truly stood out. The rooms were not only impeccably clean but also well-appointed with modern amenities. The attention to detail in the room decor and the comfortable bed made for a truly relaxing stay. The hotel's central location was perfect for exploring the city, and the ease of access to public transportation was an added bonus. I had the opportunity to dine at the hotel's restaurant, and the culinary experience exceeded my expectations. The menu offered a diverse range of delicious dishes, and the service was prompt and courteous. What truly sets the Golden Tulip Dar City Center apart is its commitment to guest satisfaction. Every interaction with the staff left me with a positive impression, and it's evident that they take pride in providing exceptional hospitality. Overall, my stay at the Golden Tulip Dar City Center was nothing short of fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a memorable and enjoyable stay in Dar es Salaam. Thank you to the entire team for making my visit so special!

Golden Tulip - city center was great! We had a weeklong stay at the full service apartments. At first glance, we weren’t very impressed by the rooms because we expected a hotel room. But given our longer stay, the management went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and reassured us that our stay would be comfortable at the airport. They catered to all the requests. All things considered the room was really very comfortable. Having a full kitchen and a washing machine along with full housekeeping was definitely a plus. The house keeping staff was also very polite and cleaned the rooms well. The breakfast buffet is decent but the menu pretty much remains the same. The real highlight though was the location and views! The rooftop restaurant has gorgeous views of the city and port. All rooms are at higher floors so they also have great views. The location is not bad. It’s a little crowded around, but there’s a lot of restaurant options in the vicinity and a taxi stand right outside that charge around tsh 5000 to go around the city. All in all, I highly recommend golden tulip for a comfortable stay in Dar es Salaam! It is value for money.

A Hidden Gem in Dar es Salaam - Golden Tulip Dar City Center

My recent stay at the Golden Tulip Dar City Center was nothing short of extraordinary. From the moment I entered the lobby to the time I checked out, every aspect of my experience was delightful.

The staff deserves special mention for their exceptional hospitality. They were not only professional but also genuinely friendly, always ready to assist with a warm smile. Their commitment to ensuring a pleasant stay was evident throughout.

The room was a haven of comfort and style. Impeccably clean, with modern amenities and a cozy ambiance, it truly felt like a home away from home. The attention to detail in room service was commendable, making each day of my stay a relaxing retreat.

The hotel's central location proved to be a strategic choice, allowing easy access to key attractions and business centers. Whether I was exploring the city or attending meetings, the convenience of the Golden Tulip's location was invaluable.

Dining at the hotel's restaurant was a culinary delight. The menu showcased a diverse array of dishes, each one a masterpiece in taste and presentation. The chefs demonstrated a passion for their craft, and the attentive service added to the overall dining experience.
