I had to try this place after reading all the raving reviews. I will admit that if you desire fresh prepared and cooked meals, you have to be more patient and willing to wait longer.

I waited around 25 to 30 minutes for take away vegetable fried rice. It was very yummy and tasted very fresh. They even offered me one of their metal forks so I can eat it back at my hotel on the beach and returned the fork later that evening. 15,000 TZS for the order.

Our hotel's food was overpriced, and we noticed this place on our way to the hotel. We were so lucky! It was the best food that we had in Zanzibar - especially its fish with peanut was MIND-BLOWING! I never thought that this combination can taste that good! Fish with coconut was also so delicious. It worthed the waiting :) The guy was also very nice and kind - although they don't accept credit card, they converted Tsh in real exchange rate, not as 1$ = 2000 Tsh as everyone did. Very nice place to eat AND to stay! I had a wonderful time in Hassan’s pishi restaurant / guesthouse! The room is spacious, clean, bed is comfortable and it has its own bathroom! The room opens on the front on the restaurant and on the back on the village with almost sea view as the beach is only at 40m walking feet!
