You can not get any more authentic then having a mean with Zube who speaks English very well and can tell you about the local community once he is done making your meal in the kitchen. My family where the only ones there at the restaurant this night but we felt very welcomed and taken care of. More like being in a friends house rather than out for dinner. My 1.5yo and 8yo enjoyed their meals and my wife and I tried the local Zanzibar meals available. It was the most affordable place we ate in all of Zanzibar and they where happy to take our order by Whatsapp to minimise the waiting time for our little one. Great experience! Local restaurant operated by a local person and using local ingredients. Zube, the owner and the chef in one person, is passionate about cooking and knows how to prepare excellent and authentic Zanzibari meals. We tried a few things from his menu and he also offered to prepare some specialties that are not normally on the menu. Both great. I decided to have my birthday's dinner in this place and it was exellent. Quite simple but absolutely charming.
