I’ve only ever had Chinese Congee before trying Thai Congee/Jok for the first time. I ordered a Cók h̄mū (Pork Rice Porridge) with a soft boiled egg on top and found it utterly delicious alongside the other flavoursome toppings.

The pork meatballs were extremely tasty, the julinenned ginger gave the dish a subtle kick, the fried shallots and deep fried crispy vermicelli noodles added a nice texture.

The thick consistency of the rice porridge was wonderful and brought all the ingredients together in harmony.
