Sode Cafe — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

Never again will I go to Sode. The cafe is near my apartment and I went there many times over many years and the young ladies working there were always nice and friendly and provided good service. But today was a different story. I went in for the first time after being away for 2 years. The girl behind the cash register just stood there fiddling with some things and didn't even look up at me for several minutes even though I was standing right in front of her. I waited patiently to order and didn't say anything. Finally she looked up at me with a look like "why are you here??". I just glared back at her and waved her off and walked out. In hindsight, I should have asked for the manager and discussed the girl's behavior with her. Anyway, that's it for me...never going back there. Plenty of other excellent coffee shops with excellent, friendly service...

I am really happy to discover your lovely place. The only reason I do not give 5 stars is because of the plastic cups…

I was so sad to see that all customers who ordered an ice coffee or tea got a plastic cup. I understand when customers order take away... but why you don't have glasses for customers who drink in the cafe?

Thailand is one of the countries where most plastic is being used in the world. In this time of global warming, we all need to take responsibility to keep our planet healthy for our children and grand children.

I hope I will see people drinking from reusable glasses in the future.

Fantastic cafe just across from Chiang Mai University. Beautiful park like settings. Super cafe with very reasonably priced and good quality coffee. Around the cafe area are lots of different food options from Thai regulars to pizzas and also a range of kebabs etc. Many different areas to sit under trees etc. All in all a really lovely cafe. Very busy during lunch times and frequented by many university students. We'll worth a stop if you're in the neighbourhood. I had a falafel kebab for lunch which was delicious and my eating partner said his Khao Soi was...
