I had planned to have lunch at this small restaurant. But before I could even place my order, I had a sudden, urgent stomachache. So I rushed to use their restroom first, thinking I would explain and order food afterward.
As I stepped out, someone approached me — perhaps the owner. Though their tone was calm, their words were quite condescending. They said, “Our restroom is for customers only. This isn’t a public place.”
I politely apologized and tried to explain, “I’m truly sorry. I had an emergency and came here intending to visit and support your restaurant.” But before I could finish, they cut me off with a judgmental expression and added, “You should’ve stopped at a gas station. I hope you didn’t leave the restroom dirty.”
I could only offer another apology and quietly walk away. I ended up not dining there at all.
I wasn’t angry — just… saddened. I couldn’t help but wonder: what kind of life must someone have lived, to speak to others like that? With such suspicion and contempt, even when kindness costs nothing.
Because in truth, every human being is equal — rich or poor, strong or vulnerable, we are still just people. Those with real maturity are shaped by compassion, not by looking down on others.

The Khao soi here was probably the best that we have tried in Chiang Mai so far . (We have tried about 3 places so far- they were all good but this place was great!!) the papaya salad was also amazing. The lady that helped us was so cute and friendly ❤️
