Market Place — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

Lovely atmosphere and generally good service from the staff, however this was one of the WORST breakfast buffets and definitely NOT five star hotel worthy.

Chicken Tom yum soup- cooked with bony chicken wings full of fat Fried green veg- fried with processed fishballs Fried noodles- fried with veg, no meat Boiled congee- cooked with processed chicken sausages And the worst offender..sauted garlic mixed vegetables, ie a bag of frozen mixed veg from the supermarket unceremoniously fried up with garlic.

What is this budget cooking?! People pay for a sense of luxury, and this is not it. It seems like a two star hotel breakfast. Everything cooked with processed, cheap meat. The only things worth eating would be the eggs and fruit.

Not to mention, the lack of variety and healthy cuisine across the hotel restaurants, everything is fried and carb heavy, the less carb heavy options are super expensive (I suppose they know they have a captive market, it’s super inconvenient to go outside to eat). The meals that we did order at the poolside were also expensive and small in portion.

The space is clean and overlooks the lagoon. The tables are spread out enough you don't feel like your sitting in someone's pocket. Though I did ask to move to a table outside as inside the air conditioning was WAY too cold for me.

The variety of food is outstanding.

They provide GF bread, and June the supervisor was helpful in having dishes prepared hubby (a coeliac) could eat!. It was fantastic to have someone who understood what GF and coeliac dirt requirements were.

The staff, like all Thai persons we have met, are friendly and helpful and service is given with a smile, nothing is too much trouble.
