Bangtao Beach spans 6 km in length, making it one of Phuket's longest beaches, halfway between Phuket airport and Patong Beach on the island’s west coast and part of the Cherngtalay area. With such a beautiful stretch of sand, it’s no surprise why Bangtao has become the home of some of the largest and most luxurious resorts on the island, such as Banyan Tree Resort, Dusit Thani Laguna Phuket, Angsana Phuket Resort, and SAii Laguna Phuket Resort.

Bangtao is also where you can find dozens of local restaurants and beach clubs right on the beach and eat or drink with your feet in the sand. For the most part, it's pretty deserted – hotels mostly occupy its southern end, while the northern end is generally very quiet and peaceful. Only a few small beach bars are dotted along its length.

The sea is flat, calm and clear from November to April. The waves can get a little rough between May and October, so take note of red flags on the coastline. Bangtao Beach attracts those looking to leave everything behind and do nothing more taxing than reading a book.

The exception to this rule is if you're at the southern end of the beach. There are several beachfront hotels and beach clubs, resulting in a very lively atmosphere in the evening. However, Bangtao remains one of the most family-friendly beaches in Phuket.

In front of the Laguna hotels, local beach shacks sell everything from snacks and drinks to beachwear and tours. Note that Bangtao Beach doesn't have...

I had the pleasure of visiting Bang Thao Beach with my family in January 2022, and it was an experience we will cherish forever. Tucked away on the west coast of Phuket Island, this half-moon-shaped beach stretches 8km, making it one of the longest beaches on the island.

The first thing you notice is the soft white sand underfoot, a perfect contrast to the lush green trees that envelope the beach. What makes this beach stand out is its tranquillity. Unlike the other more crowded and noisy beaches in Phuket, Bang Thao is a sanctuary of calm. The absence of sunbeds, umbrellas, jet skis, and pushy sellers made our visit relaxing and allowed us to appreciate the natural beauty of the surroundings.

The beach is all about finding your zen moment, which we indeed did, immersed in the serene atmosphere with the soothing sound of waves as a backdrop. Yet, this peaceful haven does not compromise on comfort and convenience. It is located within proximity to some of the best hotels, restaurants, and cafes in Phuket, ensuring our stay was as comfortable as it was tranquil.

Bang Thao Beach is a true gem that offers a unique, peaceful beach experience without giving up modern comforts. It is a must-visit destination for those seeking to escape the hustle and bustle and indulge in some well-deserved peace and relaxation. Highly...

“Bang Tao Beach – A Vibrant Slice of Paradise! 🌴🌊”

If you’re looking for a stunning beach that’s full of life, Bang Tao Beach in Phuket is a must-visit! From the moment you step onto the golden sand, you’ll feel the energy of the place. The beach is a perfect blend of natural beauty and modern amenities, making it one of the biggest tourist attractions in the area.

The clear turquoise waters and the long stretch of beach are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, or taking in the views. Whether you’re looking to relax by the water or enjoy some action, there’s always something happening. You can try water sports, go for a relaxing boat ride, or simply stroll along the shoreline with the gorgeous scenery around you.

Bang Tao also has plenty of restaurants, bars, and cafes offering delicious Thai food and refreshing cocktails. The area is buzzing with life, but not overwhelming, making it a perfect spot to unwind yet still be close to everything.

The beach is a hub for tourists and locals alike, offering activities, luxury resorts, and a vibrant atmosphere. Whether you’re here for a chill day at the beach or an exciting adventure, Bang Tao Beach has it all.

Definitely a must-see...

Amazing journeys begin with the simple decision to GO. I am glad I returned to Thailand. What a lovely country it is. Unlike the last time this time I am taking it slow and not visiting all the touristy places. In fact for the most part of my stay in Phuket, I am only exploring the North Phuket, which is more laid back and seene. No mad tourist rush no running around to cover everything in a single trip. I am right now at #lagunaphuket , a holiday paradise spanning 1,000 acres of lush tropical parkland with 3 km of pristine #bangtaobeach Featuring 7 deluxe hotels, Laguna Phuket features beautiful lagoons, tropical parkland, award-winning 18-hole golf course, tranquil spas, restaurants, bars, boutique shopping, and daily water sport activities. I am really enjoying my stay here. Have you been to #thailand ? #travelseewrite #phuketthailand #phukettrip #phuketisland #angsana #azura #thailandtravel #islandwithinanisland #staygatherexperience

Is July a good time to visit #Phuket? Frankly, there is no bad time to visit Phuket. I personally avoid the touristy season in any destination. July is one of the green season months in #thailand and an ideal time to enjoy the gorgeous countryside of Phuket. It's also a great month to travel off the beaten track and visit less well-known areas of Thailand. If you love monsoon and detest crowds, July could be a good time to visit Phuket. It’s neither hot nor cold. Just pleasant weather with a few moderate to heavy showers during the day. You could go to the beach when it doesn’t rain. BTW this is #BangtaoBeach and the tall building that you see in the video is @cassiaphuket where I stayed for 3N4D in Phuket. Save for when you visit 🇹🇭 Thailand! 👇 After spending a month in Thailand, I can confirm it’s one of our favorite countries and one we will return back to again & again! Here’s a few highlights of each location: 🌴 Phuket: rent a scooter to explore the island! Should cost around $8 USD/day ☀️ Kata Noi Beach, Bang Tao Beach, Karon Viewpoint, Old Phuket Town Scooter 🌆 Bangkok: I like staying in the riverfront area & walking/taking the metro! 🚶‍♀️ Wat Arun, Wat Pho, ALLLLL the street food, Grand Palace, Thipsamai (famous pad Thai) ⛰ Chiang Mai: stay inside the old city walls & walk or take songthaew’s around 🛻 blind massage, street food, Wat Chedi Luang, Wat Doi Suthep 🥥 Koh Lanta: we stayed on the north side of the island, get a scooter to explore! 🛵 Mu Ko Lanta National Park, Bamboo Beach, Nui Bay, Why Not Bar, snorkel tour of Ko Haa 🐘 Khao Sok National Park: we stayed at Smileys Bungalows that float on the lake and it included all food & activities! HIGHLY recommend! #thailand #thailandtravel #thailandtrip #bangkok #chiangmai #kohlanta #khaosok #phuket #thailand🇹🇭
