Mr G and I joined a few friends here hoping to enjoy a nice afternoon on the beach. I had prebooked a table which worked well through their online service.

One pair of friends were already there and had a few drinks and good umbrella coverage, thankfully which was attended to by some of the staff.

From there, things turned sour. It took far too long to get a menu and then even longer to order and quite a while for any food or drinks to arrive. Once we finished the first round of drinks, we had to work very hard to flag down a server to get our second round which in the midday heat was not good.

The drinks themselves were OK. Giant ice cubes in my two mocktails helped to keep it cool, but the over 200 THB each was not reasonable. Mr G had a moscow mule, not served in a copper cup and an old fashioned, both of which he said were alright.

The food was not worth it. Being vegan, I was excited at their menu item featuring a cauliflower steak. After placing my order, the server came back to tell us that they didn't have any available. I sadly ordered vegetable spring rolls instead. When those finally arrived, they were saturated in oil and barely tasted of anything at all. Mr G had onion rings which were essentially the same, but in a ring shape.

While I can understand the high season and especially the holidays are a busy time (I knew to book a table early), I would expect a restaurant would know the same. In total, the bill came to nearly 2000THB and I would give a very long, hard think before going here again, even if...

I booked a table a week before and had great communication via instagram and a message earlier in the day saying see you tonight. We were looking forward to going having followed them on instagram for a while before coming to Phuket on holiday.

But when we turned up the welcome was so disappointing - rude staff who didn’t care at all. They looked at us like we were a massive inconvenience and even when I said we had a booking their attitude was “so what”. I had to speak to 3 different people before we were sat down.

Service was terrible - waited ages to order drinks each time and even longer to order food. Took 30 minutes to get the first drink (normally we would have left but our children were enjoying playing on the beach). The drinks were fine, though not chilled enough. The food was mediocre (we had chicken satay and chicken pad Thai both of which were not great. Also had spring rolls which were nice).

The location is fantastic - watching the sunset was stunning. They also had a fire show which was great (but lasted less than 15 minutes) and a DJ playing great music. So the location, setting and atmosphere are great but everything else isn’t.

The toilets were also awful - really bad. They need improving a lot.

Sadly it didn’t live up to the expectation it creates on Instagram. We wouldn’t go back and I wouldn’t recommend I’m afraid. Maybe we just got unlucky on the night as there are so many good reviews but I am just giving an honest and balanced view of our experience, which...

I recently visited Smigo's Bar & Restaurant in Thailand, and it was an experience I had to share! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was welcoming and vibrant, making me feel right at home. The interior boasted a unique blend of traditional Thai decor with a modern twist, creating an atmosphere that was both cozy and stylish.

The staff at Smigo's were exceptional. They greeted me with warm smiles and were incredibly attentive throughout my visit, ensuring my experience was nothing short of perfect. Their recommendations from the menu were spot-on, showcasing their knowledge and passion for the culinary delights being served.

Speaking of the menu, it was a food lover's dream come true! I indulged in some of the most delicious dishes, each bursting with authentic Thai flavors and cooked to perfection. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation of each dish was a work of art. It was clear that there was a lot of love and care put into their food.

The highlight of my visit, however, had to be the stunning view from the restaurant. Overlooking the picturesque landscapes of Thailand, it provided the perfect backdrop to an unforgettable dining experience.

In conclusion, Smigo's Bar & Restaurant is a must-visit for anyone looking for a memorable meal in Thailand. With its exceptional service, exquisite food, and breathtaking views, it promises an experience that will leave you wanting more. Highly...

If you’re in Bang Tao and looking for the perfect beachside spot to sip cocktails and watch the sun melt into the ocean, Smigos Bar & Restaurant is a solid choice. This place checks all the right boxes: great location, a menu with plenty of options, and a vibe that keeps things lively—especially when the fire show kicks in! We stopped by for some drinks and food, and the experience was well worth it. The cocktail selection was solid, the food had enough variety to please different tastes, and the prices were reasonable for a beachfront spot. But let’s talk about the real star of the show—the fire performance. It was fantastic, adding just the right amount of excitement to the evening. The only thing that could be better? The music. It wasn’t bad, but it didn’t quite match the energy of the place. A bit more upbeat or well-curated tunes could take the atmosphere up a notch. Overall, Smigos delivers on what you’d expect from a beach bar in Phuket—great views, good food and drinks, and a memorable show. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!
