The Beach Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Choeng Thale

Loved this place. Our waitress, Mimi, was an absolute gem and must be worth her weight in gold to this establishment.

They have an extensive and delicious menu. The first night we ate here I had crispy pork with noodles and then the next night a seafood dish. My wife had a superb chicken with cashew nuts the first night and then ordered the squid with lime sauce. This proved to have a bit too much chilli in it for her so it was passed over to me and she reverted to the cashew chicken option.

The roti pancakes with banana and chocolate sauce which get ordered from a little kiosk a short way down the beach were and absolute win.

The one evening it came up to rain and we completed our meal at the bar. Mimi came and chatted with us and was a real pleasure to have around.

The tables are placed on the sand and at high tide the wave lets come up and tickle your feet. A wonderful experience.

We came here for cocktail happy hour one evening during our week in Bang Tao, stayed for dinner and enjoyed ourselves so much that we have been back at least once a day either for cocktails or food. The cocktails are very tasty, 240B for 2 during happy hour. The staff are very attentive, friendly and efficient. But the food, oh the food! I would travel across the world again for their food. Better Thai food than I’ve had in many fancy city restaurants over the years and at a fraction of the price. Particularly recommend the Penang Shrimp Curry (really fragrant and lots of lemongrass and chilli), Thai Green Curry and Pad Thai Goong. Sat here tonight with my 7 and and 14 year old for 1.5 hours and nothing not that it was very busy

Service was terrible. Ordered several quick dishes and a pizza but I guess they were overwhelmed. Other diners got their food before us.

I went up twice to complain but it fell on deaf ears. One of the waiters could not understand that we had kids.

I then went up a third time and spoke to the owner. Who apologised but was quick to take my money for what we orders. Nevertheless I paid and left. The premises.

What a load of ######## to put it mildly.

Never again!
