If you're looking for a cozy spot with playful vibes and an elevated dining experience, That Fat Kid Buddy is a must-visit! We stopped by for lunch/brunch, and it was one of the most satisfying meals we’ve had in a long time. We started with the Asian Lobster Roll, which came in deep-fried bao buns—crispy on the outside and generously filled with perfectly seasoned lobster. Next up was the French Seabream, beautifully grilled and paired with a tangy Yuzu Kosho cream sauce that balanced the dish wonderfully. One of the highlights was the Grilled Char Sui Black Cod, a rich and tender fish that melted in our mouths, complemented perfectly by the sticky rice risotto. Another favorite was the Foie Gras Taco, a single bite packed with indulgent flavors, from the caramelized onion to the red wine-pickled grapes. For pasta lovers, the Udon Mentaiko was a creamy dream. It’s the kind of comfort food that lingers in your memory long after the meal. Since we visited during the festive season, we couldn’t resist diving into their X’Mas Specials. The AUS Wagyu Ribeye Roast (thick cut) was a showstopper—juicy, flavorful, and paired with Yorkshire pudding and bone marrow for the ultimate holiday indulgence. The Currywurst Loaded Fries were another fun treat, topped with creamy cheese and curry ketchup for a playful twist on comfort food. To finish our meal on a refreshing and relaxing note with the Got Any Grapes dessert, it is perfect for anyone looking for something truly unique. This playful treat combines the sweet and tangy flavors of grapes with the fun elements of Fanta and popping candy, creating an exciting burst of joy in every bite – like a mini explosion of fun in your mouth. Pair it with the Sticky Toffee Pudding Ice Cream Sandwich, which feels like a warm hug on a plate. Served with homemade vanilla ice cream and perfectly sweet caramel sauce, it’s a dessert that strikes the perfect balance of warmth and indulgence. We reserved one of their private rooms since we brought our dogs along, and it was a fantastic choice! The room had a private toilet and a lovely ambience, making it a comfortable and pet-friendly experience. We can't wait to return and explore their a la carte options further—especially the course menu! Whether you’re here for the food, the cozy vibes, or a little bit of both, That Fat Kid Buddy is a place that will leave you craving more.

Let me share my honest experience. I would like to comment on so many aspects. First of all, the dish is okay overall and the presentation is nice. Some of the menu are unique and some passable. I really enjoy the uniqueness of the food and the variety. Now for the comments. My utter concerns has to do with such appalling services and the lack of care Buddy seems toward its client. Only one of the service staff seems to be capable of doing their job properly. For instance, my friend ask for refills of wine (3 times already) and the waiter seems to ignore the request until I have to pour the wine myself. More, I was asked to move the car outside (which is already difficult enough due to parking spaces) but no one seems to care or provide services. I was quite shock of how bad the service was at Buddy and I expected much more from a restaurant of this calibers and price range. To add to the experience, half of my friend group also got a harsh food poisoning from eating here so I think you should stay far away from this place. As an experience overall I am very dissatisfied and disappointed due to lack of care from the the team and the slowness to react. It will be a much more pleasant dinner if this could be fixed.

fb : Travel Cafe Eat Drink - Malaysia & Asia One of the best Thai fine dining restaurant. It's location is in an alley quite hidden away from mainroad. It was casual yet the food is was fun and elevated. Not a pretentious and intimidated fine dining experience, but is still fine dining in the way the foods are served, however it is much easier to enjoy. Very personal dining experience where the friendly Chef interacts with diners and very detail oriented in his food served. Rarely see a chef comes out to check in his food so frequent. I ordered the Foie Gras cranberry gel skin which was a little mild to my taste. The creamy ramen with seared scallop served was really creamy with good taste of the scallop. Coconut ice-cream with plum puree was not too heavy in taste. Overall, it's a great dining experience in That Fat Kid Buddy restaurant, with exceptional service by the staff and Cheff This is one place that have really good food and excellent ambiance. This restaurant only have 3 regular sized table for 4/table and another big table for group dining. Reservation is highly recomended especially for dinner.
