Oiy Restaurant — Restaurant in Kamala

Restaurant Oiy delivers a mixed experience. Their ordering system is, to say the least, inefficient. Everything is handwritten, and notes then have to be manually delivered to both the kitchen and the bar. This creates unnecessary chaos and wasted resources, resulting in long wait times both for placing an order and for receiving the food. Despite the staff rushing around frantically, the process still seems poorly organized.

The food itself was disappointing. Several dishes, especially the starters, seemed pre-made and lacked freshness. When the food finally arrived, the plate was warm, but the food was completely cold, as if it had just been reheated in a microwave. After sending the dish back, it was returned with an even hotter plate – but unfortunately, the food was still cold.

On the positive side, the staff were friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. It’s clear you get what you pay for, but the overall experience didn’t leave a desire to return. A mediocre experience that could be much better with more focus on quality...

I and my wife went to this restaurant due to good review on google, and the quality of food was high as stated by many others. The service was excellent and staff is very friendly. It’s very rare that we went to the same restaurant twice on a trip overseas. But this was an exception, we went to the same restaurant on the following evening for dinner, and tried out more food items. We were fully satisfied and have no doubt to recommend to anyone who visit Kamala to try out this restaurant. There would be no disappointment for anyone who wanted to try local Thai food. Be aware that this restaurant is cash only. The staffs were super nice and welcoming. I have a group of 5 adults and 2kids. we ordered mango sticky rice, mango smoothies and watermelon smoothie, both fresh and yummy. The coconut creamy chicken soup and green curry beef also tasted great. I would recommend their seafood fried rice, it was made with big shrimp and calamari and I can tell it’s super fresh from first bite. One of the salad I order turn out to be unexpectedly spicy.
