If you're craving authentic Indian cuisine just steps away from the beautiful Kamala Beach in Phuket, the Royal Indian Food restaurant is the place to be. Nestled in the heart of Kamala, this little gem offers a culinary experience that brings the rich flavors of India straight to your plate. As soon as you step into the restaurant, you're greeted by the warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the vibrant and aromatic dishes they serve. The menu is extensive, featuring everything from classic curries to mouthwatering tandoori dishes, ensuring that there's something for everyone – even for vegetarians like me.I decided to try a variety of dishes, and I must say, the food did not disappoint. The flavors were bold and authentic, with each bite transporting me back to the streets of India. The spices were perfectly balanced, giving each dish a depth of flavor that is hard to find. However, I did notice that some of the dishes were a bit on the salty side. While this might be a minor drawback for some, it didn’t take away from the overall experience. The food was still delicious, and the saltiness didn't overpower the intricate spice profiles that make Indian cuisine so special. One of the highlights of my meal was the Paneer Tikka – the paneer was soft, and the marinade was bursting with flavor. The naan bread was fluffy and perfect for scooping up the rich and creamy sauces. The vegetarian options were plentiful, and I appreciated the attention to detail in each dish.Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my dining experience at Royal Indian Food. The proximity to Kamala Beach makes it an ideal spot for a post-swim meal or a relaxed dinner as the sun sets. Despite the slight saltiness, the food was amazing, and the service was prompt and friendly.I gave them 4 stars, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a taste of India in Phuket.Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐Vegetarian Hashtags: #VegetarianDelight #VegetarianFood #VeggieLover #MeatlessMonday #IndianVegetarian #HealthyEating #PhuketEats #BeachsideDining #KamalaBeach #PhuketFoodie #PlantBased #VegLife #FoodReview #IndianCuisine...

Royal India, may seem pricey but the prices are similar to or much less than those of most Indian restaurants in Phuket. Before the covid era, this restaurant hardly had any serious competition in Kamala. Now a new Indian restaurant called Suraj has opened in Kamala on the main road. This new restaurant is charging 70 baht for one skimpy plain naan which is what a lot of the better Indian restaurants charge in Patong. A pretty large Chappati or plain Naan are for only 40 baht each at Royal India. The service too is much much faster than Suraj's.

Baabar, the owner/chef, is very friendly and is very helpful if you have no idea of how much or how little to order. The food is tasty and not overly hot/spicy but can be hot if you ask for it.

I usually come here with a companion. We tend to order mutton seekh-kebab, daal, palak-paneer and 3 plain naan-breads. Baaber makes better daal-makhanni than most other Indian-cuisine restaurants.

These days when i come alone, i order the Aaloo Gobi or the Aaloo Mutter dishes along with 2 chappatees. Please see...

If i could give 0 stars i would! This was without doubt the worst Indian food we have ever had. 2 of the curries were completely inedible due to the amount of salt in them, the popadums that were actually popads were burnt. The service was very slow even though there were only 2 other tables, the starters arrived separately with one coming after the main meals. They did offer to replace the 2 inedible meals, but after the general taste and quality of the food was so bad, we were not happy to wait all over again for something equally bad. I have never refused to pay in a restaurant before, but on this ocassion it was so,bad i refused to pay for the 2 curry dishes, so deducted them from the final total of 2580 thb. The waitress was very pleasant, and tried to explain that she offered to replace them, however thet clearly need a much better chef. I have no idea why anyone would ever return to this restaurant, but I guess as a holiday destination they don't need to rely on return...

A wonderful Indian restaurant at the sea. We had the vegetarian Dahl (which has onions and more spice then the starter Dahl). It had good taste and you could see the little oil floating in the top. I had cheese Naan bread which was, to my surprise, a little sweet. It was light and moist. We also had a curry with mutton. It had good spice and good taste of lamb. We had veggie samosa for starters which was great with a mint sauce. Overall a nice place with a very caring owner who was proud of his own food. Also try the Indian masala tea with milk and honey it was a very pleasant drink to calm all the spice.
