I am sorry that I have to write a complaining review about this restaurant, but after my disappointing experience, I feel compelled to share my thoughts. As an Indian food enthusiast, I was excited to try this restaurant again, unfortunately, there aren't many options around my village.
Despite my attempts to communicate my dietary needs, the waitstaff at this restaurant seems to have a hard time understanding my request. On my first two visits, I kindly requested that my food be non-spicy, but unfortunately, my order came out extremely spicy both times, which left me feeling very disappointed.
On my third visit, I made sure to emphasize my dietary restrictions very clearly to the waiter, requesting that my food be prepared without any chili or spice whatsoever. I even looked him in the eye and repeated my request twice to ensure he understood. To my dismay, when I got home and started to eat my meal, it was just as spicy as before, leaving me with a burning sensation in my mouth after just one small bite.
Overall, I have to say that I was extremely let down by my experience at this restaurant. As someone who loves Indian food, it's disappointing to find a place that doesn't seem to care about their customers' needs or preferences. I won't be going back to this restaurant again, and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for a good...
Read moreI recently visited Suraj Indian Restaurant on Kamala Main Street to satisfy a sudden craving for Indian cuisine. While the restaurant itself is appealing—clean, nicely decorated, and easily accessible—I found the food quality somewhat disappointing.
The service from the wait staff was fine; she was attentive and courteous. However, the food did not live up to my expectations. I ordered Samosas, Chicken Biriyani, a Mango Lassi, and Gulab Jamun.
The samosas were average, not particularly memorable. The Chicken Biriyani, which I had high hopes for, was overly salty, overshadowing the flavors and making it difficult to enjoy. The mango lassi was decent but didn't stand out. The meal concluded with gulab jamun, which was alright but lacked the richness and depth of flavor I was hoping for.
Overall, while the ambiance and service were satisfactory, the food quality left much to be desired. I might give it another chance in the future, but for now, it didn't quite...
Read moreWe ordered chicken Biryani, baigan bharta, tandoori roti, and rasgulla. Biryani was a disaster. Portion-wise, not enough for 1 person. They added chicken breast strips instead of chicken with bone-in Biryani, which was chewy and dry. They didn't even care to give accompaniments with it, raita, pickle, etc. Baigan bharta was pathetic. You can taste the raw oil in it. Bad in taste. They didn't even roast the eggplant nicely. You can feel the raw pieces of eggplant while eating it. Even a roadside food seller in India can make a better eggplant bharta than they do. The tandoori roti was not even cooked properly. And chewy like leather. Hard like a stone. And they took more than an hour to cook these 3 food items. I would suggest eating at Billion Food Thai Indian restaurant, which is located in Choeng Thale, not far from Kamala. We ordered 3 consecutive days from there. Eating every day different foods which was better in taste and quality than...
