This was me and my families all time favourite restaurant to go to on our 2 week holiday in Thailand, making daily visits to enjoy their amazing food, staff and atmosphere. From breakfast burritos and fry ups to pizzas, pastas and burgers ( the down under burger being my brothers new obsession ordering it every night ) the food never disappoints leaving you full and still wanting more not to forget the steak which was better then any other steak you will find in Thailand, we tried fancy steak houses and this steak was far more amazing and one to remember. There is also an amazing range of Thai food if you want to explore the local cuisine which will change your life!
Although the food and drink is amazing there is something which tops it which is the amazing staff and atmosphere of the restaurant full of banter and great conversations and a full house of hilarious Aussies watching AFL and other sports weekend evenings leaving you in a great mood.
Finally there is the restaurant that is greatly decorated and supplied with air conditioning and toilets, it’s all clean and hygienic and a great place to go knowing you won’t catch any food illnesses.
I would 100% recommend visiting as it is the best restaurant you will find in Thailand leaving you full...
Read moreRecently tried this "new" Kamala restaurant, previously known as Pim's Place on the main road in Kamala, on the left just before the first traffic lights if coming from Patong. Bright, airy and spacious we were seated and quickly armed with drinks- cocktails and icy beers served by attentive staff. We decided to share a large crisp based pizza between us which did the trick as a starter for the 8 of us. The venue owner and host, Matt suggested a great Shiraz from the Adelaide Hills for us and we headed onto mains with the first of what turned out to be many bottles and he was correct-it was great! The menu is vast- described as Pub Faves, and included steaks, schnittys, burgers, salads, pizza, pasta and Thai. They also have an extensive breakfast offer that i think was available all day. My fish & chips was a big serve of beer battered barramundi, sourced locally (sea perch in Thailand) and served with good chips and a small salad- as good as I've had in a long time. Others were very happy with an enormous lamb shank, a tasty Penang curry, a pork cutlet with plenty on it and good steaks enjoyed by a number of us. All well priced- it won't break the bank- this spot is a great addition and a must...
Read moreI dropped in last Sunday after checking into my hotel down the street. The steak tartare was great but the Cesar salad not as good by far. The chicken was sliced in small strips and tough, as were the "croutons". There were bacon bits(?) that weren't crispy. Just not a traditional Cesar salad while the steak tartare was just like I eat it in France. There was wine by the glass - all the same winery. I tried the Chardonnay which was decent, but then I also tried a glass of Pinot Noir which was essentially un-drinkable. There is so much decent wine available in the supermarkets, I am not sure why the owner restricts his offering to just one winery. I pretty much left the wine untouched after tasting it (but still was charged 240 Baht for it) and requested an Expresso Martini without Kahlua - the owner understood and made it perfectly for me. So, I hope he'll select his wines by the glass better in...
