Disappointing Experience at Vanilla Sky Bar & Gastro Pub

We visited Vanilla Sky on our first evening in Phuket, excited to enjoy a nice meal. Unfortunately, it turned out to be the worst dining experience we’ve ever had.

We arrived at 5:45 PM and ordered a variety of skewers, including salmon, prawns, chicken, lamb, and vegetables. Despite the restaurant being fairly quiet at the time, our food took nearly an hour to arrive. To make matters worse, most of our order was either missing or incorrect. The prawns, chicken, and salmon were not served initially, and when the prawns finally came out, they were completely raw—an inexcusable oversight, especially when dealing with seafood.

The staff didn’t seem attentive, and the overall service was chaotic and disorganized. Given the long wait, incorrect orders, and unacceptable food quality, this meal really dampened the start of our vacation.

What a hidden gem! 🌅✨ We found this spot on our last day and it completely blew us away, the sunset view over Kamala Beach is absolutely spectacular. Add in their Buy 1 Free 1 happy hour and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a dreamy evening.

We ordered almost everything on the menu, all the BBQ skewers, pork tacos, tuna salsa, and a chicken stuffed with sticky rice (so yummy!). While they don’t serve Thai food, the menu offers a mix of small and big bites, mostly Western and European-style.

The food was delicious, the vibe was relaxed, and the hospitality was top-notch. We ended up staying for two hours just soaking it all in. I only wish we had found this place...

When your on holiday in Phuket and looking for some best view of the Andaman Sea...this is the best place to be...We are a group of 6pax just decided to chill after work...had met our fellow filipino performer there named John Philip for a 2hour acoustic performance...catch him on weekends...
