CAUTION! FOOD POISONING! I have a very strong stomach, and I've been to many countries in Asia without stomach issues, but this restaurant managed to break that trend. I'm 95% sure it was from ordering the Mango shake on the menu. When drinking it, it tasted suspiciously watery/icy, but since its coming from a restaurant with good reviews, I didnt think too much about it. I ended up getting violent vomiting roughly 14 hours after the meal, and I ended up having to go to the toilet roughly 2-3 times an hour for the next 12 hours, even after taking stool hardener medication. Ultimately this made me miss my private boat reservation the next day which was non-refundable, and I ended up forfeiting my $650+ USD boat rental.
In hindsight, I also ordered the Tom Yum soup, and there was this weird white powder at the bottom of the soup, and after thinking about it, this is the same stuff you would see when using instant soup mixes. Not only does this indicate the restaurant cuts corners on their dishes, it also indicates questionable food safety standards, considering my experience. I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone, and please avoid it at all costs if you'd like to enjoy your vacation at Phuket!
This restaurant was recommended to me by my Hotel (Kamala beach estate) which is right next to this establishment. While the food tasted good, be cautious that you're taking a gamble with this restaurant - the pricing isnt even the best considering...
Read moreWe had dinner here while staying at the nearby Hyatt Regency. We were greeted and seated near the railing of a nice open dining area with the bay in view through the trees.
We were given spray for the mosquitoes and it was really needed as they were all around until a fan was turned on at our request.
We had the Pomeroy salad best dish of our entire trip), spring rolls, shrimp pad thai, and a chicken and vegetables dish recommended by the waiter. All dishes were good and we left satisfied by the food.
The service was really lacking. All yhe dishes were brought out within a few minutes of each other instead of spaced out a bit. Appetizers should have been served and then the mains. No biggie, but it felt very rushed.
Then another group of 6 sat down at a table next to us and the owner moved the fan to point toward them. We immediately started sweating. Then we waited 10 minutes to have our empty plates removed. The waiter walked around and I tried multiple times to catch his eye and he never looked our way. It was not busy at all. He just was not paying attention.
I hope they fix the service issues because the food was good.
Live music was good but a little odd. 70s American music "Summer Breeze, etc." just didn't seem right...
Read moreLocation was great and the staff very friendly and chatty, had no problem with us sitting and enjoying a beer after our meal, relaxing in the beautiful scenery. Food was all presented very well, more fancy than your usual Thai restaurant with a few little flair touches. The shrimp Cakes were gorgeous and full of sweet and neaty shrimp, not the floury stodgy ones I have had before. The tom saep was nice but did not taste like a traditional tom saep and needed to be spicier. I was so excited to see khao soi on the menu but what came out had very little resemblence to a real khao soi, coconutty and sweet and taste more like a tom ka soup than the beautiful khao soi you get in places like Chiang Mai. Overall about 3.5 out of 5 and worth a visit if you are nearby, I wouldn't make a trip out of my way to...
