I thought the name had something to do with those creatures at the start of Super Mario Bros.

The name Goomba is derived from "Goombah" (from Sicilian cumpà which translates in to "mate". Refers to a member of a usually Italian American secretive criminal organization.

Also, in Hungarian gomba means "mushroom".

GOOMBAH is one of my favorite bars in Bangkok. The vibe is cozy but fun, and the staff are amazing. Crystal is always so friendly, and ellis ( i hope i am spelling your name right lol )makes a mean dirty martini. The bartenders here are super talented and will even mix up custom drinks off the menu just for you. Definitely a spot worth checking out if you love good cocktails and good people.

We stumbled into this cocktail bar without much research—and it turned out to be a jackpot.
