Good food with wonderful dining experience where you can select choices of your meal from the storage to be cooked as your preferred dishes. Tables are available for reservation before your arrival inside air-con rooms at Wine Cellar or at the Cheese Room and outdoor area. Today, I ordered for a deal of 999 THB from Wongnai which I was able to choose 1 appetizer and 1 main dish from the lists serving with a mineral water and 1 Lemon Tart for dessert. Therefore, I had ordered 2 more plates of Risotto Pumpkin & Smoked Salmon and Fresh Figs and Goat Cheese Salad for sharing with my friend.
First of all, I should have said that the food and beverages are all fantastic with the taste and the presentation. Ribeye Steak served well with Medium Rare texture as I ordered with the sides of vegetables and potatoes with a sauce that suits all portion of the dish. Salad is really fresh and delicious to be a good start before the main dish. Risotto is creamy with the taste of pumpkin not like anywhere and the Salmon is well-smoked to be the best component of the dish. Last but not least, the cold cut plates arrived at my table with my confusing about the sequence of serving of food.
Since the first dish was served, I got confused from having 2 main dishes of Risotto and Ribeye serving before appetizers of Cold Cut and the Salad which they were brought to serve after 2 main dishes a while later even those 2 appetizers were prepared and cooked easier than the main dishes.
Also, my friend and I were assigned to dine at the table inside the Wine Cellar closed to the sliding glass entrance which guests and staffs walking in/out all the time which it was so noisy and annoying. We decided to ask the lady staff "New" if we can move the table a bit inner and she told us with rush that "Let me check first, someone may reserve that table." I was waiting for the answer but she never came back for the answer anymore. I did not mind if the table I asked to move was reserved, but I just only need to be told. I really disappointed with her since she seems like working here for a long time and should be working more professionally and efficiently in term of service standard in the fine-dining venue.
Finally, we were sitting there until the end of the meal. The Lemon Tart was served for a dessert including with 999THB deal. The meringue on the top was soft with a little bit sweet suit to acidy from the tart.
Read moreCame here for the Sunday breakfast, and it was just OK. The cozy French deli place does offer a variety of spreads and offerings - also with unlimited coffee refills (with coffee variations to choose from; i.e. latte, americano, decaf etc.), quiche, yoghurts, fresh fruits, salads, pastries and cooked eggs on order. Enjoyable cold cuts and cheese selections - this restaurant's specialty to expect anyhow.
While the breakfast selections and spreads are plentiful and gourmet looking, I must say that I've had better. The eggs are unfortunately too overcooked and looked hastily prepared. Staff willing to service but could practice some comprehension. I had requested for scrambled eggs with mushrooms but without the ham, and the plate I got was an omelet without the mushrooms but hams were on there. I had this first order returned to the kitchen, and repeated my order. Then, came the second scrambled eggs with the mushrooms but somehow it also came with the ham. At this point, I just proceeded with eating I felt so sorry for the chickens.
Pricewise the breakfast was great and fresh with multiple offerings and selections the place offers, but quality will have to polish if they want to make better value and experience. Plainly decent overall- nothing mind blowing but no drawbacks with unlimited coffee, semi outdoor setting, good company and their hours that allow diners to bask and take their time till late afternoon.
PS, despite the small soi; parking is available...
Read moreI was disappointed by the lack of care the restaurant showed during my latest visit. Starting with a lack of paper menues you are forced to scan a QR code and access the menu on your phone. To chose your items you have to navigate through 3 different menus sometimes written in small fonts almost unreadable on a phone screen. It's 2024, most restaurants have pivoted back to more convenient paper menues after covid restrictions ended. The last thing I care for on a social restaurant visit is forced to be browsing my phone. We ordered the following. 6 oyster, boiled Artichoke, French mussels, a beefsteak and half bottle of house red wine. Total Bill 4200B . The oyster where fresh however they where presented as shown in picture above in a unprofessional style. The artichoke dish consists of a single medium large artichoke with 3 different dipping sauces. It is quite tasty however at 900B for the dish it's more expensive than the beef steak and in my view overpriced. The French mussels dish is about 2 handfull in size and the individual mussels where so tiny that the mussel meat inside average size was about 5mm in length. I forgot to take a picture but it was ridiculously small. The steak was ok but the garnish of potato and Coliflower was seasoned uninspiring and overly salty. Service: a generally friendly staff tried their best but served the dishes in the wrong previously agreed order and just placed a stack of dishes and cuttlery on table without...
