I had a very disappointing experience at the Vantage Point International Buffet located at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre and One Bangkok. I purchased their international buffet for two people at Queen Sirikit through the Klook website on March 2, 2025, with a reservation scheduled for April 7, 2025, at 5 pm to celebrate my wife's birthday. However, my booking was unexpectedly canceled, and the reason provided was "Other Reason".
So I made a booking again at the new outlet of a popular establishment located at One Bangkok, which had just been added to the Klook website a day or two prior. I made a reservation for two people on March 9, 2025, and scheduled it for April 7, 2025, at 5 p.m. Unfortunately, few days later, my booking was canceled without a clear explanation again.
I engaged in a live chat with a customer service representative from the Klook website to address an issue I was experiencing. After explaining the problem, the agent assisted me in investigating and informed me that the cancellation was a result of price and package updates. I inquired about rebooking, to which the agent confirmed that I could proceed. They promptly provided me with a new link containing the updated pricing and package details for the Vantage Point International Buffet. I proceeded to rebook my reservation, selecting One Bangkok as my preferred dining location. However, to my dismay, my booking was canceled once again just one day later.
I reached out to a live agent on the Klook website once more to address the issue at hand. They assured me that they would conduct a thorough investigation and provide me with an update as soon as possible. Today, I visited the Klook website to review the Vantage Point International Buffet once more, only to discover that the price had been raised from $39.90 to $62.70 Singapore dollars per person, marking a significant 56% increase. We visited this restaurant regularly back then and were super impressed at the quality of its food and service. Everything we ordered tasted marvelous every single time, and the service was always attentive.
Unfortunately, the restaurant now shifted its focus to serving a buffet, and its food and service quality has dropped significantly.
On our most recent visit, the pumpkin and carrot soup has no taste whatsoever; it tasted just like thickened water if you close your eyes. The salad felt limpy. And the smoked pork belly was absent of the pleasing smoke aroma that used to be the draw of this dish; the skin was also not crispy and the meat somewhat tough. The only saving grace were the desserts, which were still excellent.
However, at the current price point of just a little over ฿1,000 per person, it's still considered a steal for what you get.
If they only bring the quality of the food back up to what it once was, then Vantage Point would surely become the top buffet restaurant...
