Reef Lounge — Restaurant in Ko Samet

Found this place completely by accident and couldn’t have been more impressed. What a great find on the cozy island of Samed. The speakeasy bar attached to the restaurant is intimate with a very seductive vibe. The bartender, Dom, was fantastic, making us feel right at home. Then the real magic begins with the cocktails. A small selection of about 12 specialty drinks is on the menu. We tried four of them, and each was amazing—crafted perfectly with exotic ingredients and beautifully presented. We had Dom’s Breakfast, a Mexican-style cocktail, one with coconut, and a gin concoction. We would have kept going down the list, but we had an early morning. After drinks, we had dinner at REEF. Once again, great service, lovely food, and very warm hospitality. Can’t recommend this place enough. I suggest arriving for sundown, having a drink in the bar or on the beach, and then moving in for dinner. Having spent a lot of time looking for and drinking in various unique and special bars around the world I was expecting the highlight of my Thailand trip to be the bars we visited in BKK. But then we found this place and ended up loving it. The drinks are creative and unique in their own right, the menu feels genuine and flavors are uplifted by the locally produced fresh ingredients. The whole bar is then uplifted by the welcoming energy of Dom! This guy has something special, he is creative, engaged and curious about what he does. This is one of the most exclusive lounge bars on the island. The cocktails here will cause the most exclusive feelings for the palate. The taste and appearance are ten points. The cocktail menu is even created by the cocktail virtuoso Francesco Moretti himself. And they are implemented in the most excellent and professional way by YA and DOM.
