All good but just 1 staff young woman ruined our first night ” Checked in all good … but I noticed already that woman already quite something , anyways was all good enjoying the afternoon nice place etc Invited my friends for dinner , ordered food , an hour later saying spaghetti no good (same woman ) should order different because we had some problem with spaghetti ok changed to salad (normal salad ) again 30 mins almost finishing the whole fish still no salad so we canceled . And my friends just decided to eat what we have on the table and leave. ( this is how it got ruined for me after all I have been patient and nice ( ordered 4 glasses of ice and on the bill 8 glasses of ice small glasses (5 baht per glass ) and she charged 80 baht for 8 glasses Not about the money but she didn’t mention that the glass of ice have to pay 5 baht ( was not on the menu ) I confronted her as I said we didn’t know you charge glass with ice ( we were having dinner and we are staying there ) And she just said I charge every costumer glass of ice ! She would have mentioned it and she should put on the menu. Also 4+4 equals 8 * 5 =40 not 80 baht Also very unprofessional as we checked out morning I said good morning as we want to eat breakfast and she just ignored. I understand I told her she should tell costumers next time that they charge a glass with ice then shouldn’t be a problem rather than charge it right ok. The bill without telling costumers I have been Koh samed 15 times to be exact and I got never charged glass with ice when dining and drinking . Anyways even tho of what happened the costumers /guests shouldn’t be feeling like we have to be accommodating her because she didn’t like what she heard . It’s a costumer opinion. And guests shouldn’t be suffering the awkwardness while staying there . We checked out and ignored again . Other staffs are cool and nice specially the young man. He was delivering our food etc and a very polite attitude . Place I’ll recommend but that staff (woman ) should learn more that guest should just adopt on her mood and behavior . We didn’t stay there to make friends and we don’t owe her anything . Btw our bill was 1200 fish / pork chop and fried rice and soju which was not a problem could have have been much more as spaghetti they couldn’t serve as had a problem after an hour waiting. And salad took forever so we cancelled them . Then glass of ice really !? She is young lady who speaks English . Careful don’t piss her off just pay what she charged otherwise your stay there would be miserable… awkward time ! And you’ll vacation would be ruined! I understand she works there but she should understand people come to the island wants a peace of mind and a vacation from buzzling stressful life and what she could do is made that happen for people chooses that place to stay. A pity because I chose that place and wanted it to be my go to place when I am on the island because ei love to snorkel . But not a loss there are other better places...
Read morebut everything else! To start with you have to tip toe through a rubbish tip. Then you arrive at your 'hotel'. The rooms are scattered across a rocky peninsula which sounds, and looks picturesque. Watch your step! Loose nails, wonky planks, splinters...Then you get to your room. We were lucky only one light bulb worked, but it was still hard to miss the tacky furniture, gecko poo on the bed, half eaten food in the fridge, dust and grime. oh yes! and the naked ladies adorning our minature stand-in-the toilet-while-you shower-and clean-your-teeth-at-the-same-time-bathroom! That is, after you've managed to work out that the random switch on the far side of the bedroom is the hot water switch. We had booked for 5. They did not confirm it. When we arrived they were only expecting 4. Their reaction was to throw down a Barbie duvet (complete with Barbies pee stain!) on the floor in a tiny little area not covered with cheap rattan furniture or plastic flowers. But no worries! The floor was as hard as the bed anyway. My son is a hulking 15 year old btw. He didn't fit on Barbie too well! Also, don't try to close the curtains or the mozzie blinds. They don't work, and the curtains fall off the rods. With a bit of luck though they may land on your head - its the only way you'll get any sleep😄||The food was ok, but pricey for what you got and the tea and coffee making facilities in the room were 2 sachets of nescafe. No milk, no tea. If you want tea, you are instructed to the nearest 7/11. This makes me sound like a princess! I am not, but I do have standards!! oh, and no maid service either....you have to clean up your own headless gecko left lovingly by one of the several cats on your doorstep.||Definitely a character building experience.||I would go back to Koh Samet in a flash, but not...
Read moreMy partner and I booked this at the last minute for an overnight trip to Samet. There wasn't a huge range of accommodation left to chose from so we booked it on a quick whim - had I read the other online reviews, I think I would have parted with the extra money to stay on Ao Prao!||||The bed was basically a yoga mat on top of some very hard, noisy wooden slats, the shower was in/over the toilet, and there were mice/rats having a great old party in the walls all night scratching around. In hindsight, we should have moved but the hotel refused to refund us and had no other room for us to move to. By the time we were going to bed after exploring the island for the day it was dark and there was really no option for us but to stay. ||||Even if the rats/mice had been dealt with, 3,500 baht for the bungalow is ridiculously overpriced. What you're paying for is no better than camping. And even then you'd be sleeping on...
