Great, cozy and family-run restaurant, in a side street to the "main street". Two times already eaten there for dinner and it was always super tasty, the third time follows... Thai dishes, such as Pad Thai, Som Tam or the Green Mango Salad, always delicious and priced okay, also the curry tastes great. Wishes regarding the degree of spiciness are always perfectly arranged by the kitchen. Choeng Mon is a touristy, smaller place where most restaurants are very similar, no matter if offer or prices. The "Mr. Eung" is in any case something special, alone by the somewhat crazy-loving, wacky nature of the chef, always in a good mood, for nice conversations to have and gives great recommendations for the food. Very typical thai "local" restaurant that had the regular thai dishes together with tourist favourites like French fries and pasta. Patrons there were exclusively or at least almost exclusively foreigners, with little to no locals in sight, but it was pretty busy.
Service was attentive, friendly and quick.

Certainly not poor by any measure, but I am very sure there much better thai eateries on the island. Prices were also on the high side, THB800 for 2 including 1 beer.
Good if you are in the area, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get here...

For apps we had the spring rolls which were some of the best I've had, along with the chicken satay, which was moist and delicious.
For our mains we had whole fish with garlic and chili (amazing!), BBQ prawns, green curry with chicken, pork with ginger, chicken with basil and chili and the morning glory vegetables. The fish and prawns were the standout dishes, but all were high quality.
Above and beyond all that, Mr Eung made our experience truly wonderful! He was very accommodating and hospitable and delightful to deal with. We...
