Spoil your significant other, or spoil yourself, or go as a group - but whatever you do while on Samui, go to the Fish House for lunch (or dinner)! Beachside, in the beautiful grounds of the stunning Hotel Kimpton Kitalay, Fish House is a wonderful beachside restaurant, with a talented Spanish chef, with amazingly reasonable prices! Who would have guessed?! We arrived late - after 3.30, and expected to be told to order quickly, if at all, given that the restaurant closed at 4pm. But the wonderful waiting staff were relaxed and helpful, telling us that there was no need to rush, and that we could eat a la carte or take advantage of a lunchtime deal which although not strictly speaking a buffet, was still all you can eat {we were lucky, because this apparently isn't (yet) a regular feature}. My companion, Khun A took that option, while I chose a la carte: hummus, baba ghanoush, flatbreads with pickled and roast vegetables to start, followed by grilled pork iberico. Khun A came back with amazing fish tacos and calamari tacos, sliders, beautifully cooked authentic paella, seafood pasta (two types - one a carbonara style that she adored, the other more traditional with chilli and tomato). We sat on the terrace, overlooking the sea, with the sound of the surf loud in our ears. It was a great spot! The bill was surprisingly reasonable. The restaurant and adding bar sit poolside, and look especially beautiful at night. The next night we had cocktails in the bar of the hotel, and really good bar food: another great space, with more great people, and amazing views! We hadn't been able to get a reservation for the hotel itself, but ended up staying nearby - and after discovering Fish House, we went back every day to try a different hotel facility - the spa is excellent, by the way. But now I wish that I'd gone back at least once for a few rounds of fish and calamari tacos - they really were amazing! Suffice to say, that we'll be going back there for my birthday, for a long weekend, and I'll be very disappointed if we don't get to have at least two meals at...

Hello, Disclaimer: Don’t usually write reviews but this one is honest and relays what other reviewers have said. (Showing that that business has not learned from feedback in last year of feedback given by low score)

Good things: located In kimpton resort, which has good scenery.

Bad things:(literal-not exaggerating) -Food was very bland. (Red tuna appetizer was alright but very bland) no seasoning/even salt at all for linguini/seafood and sea bass. (Tbh, this food made it feel like a robbery/scamming with quality etc…I ate the rest because I am not picky eater) -waiting a long time for cold bland food and staff not properly trained.(frequent table visits in beginning to the table, but as the dinner progressed no real checkup about being finished. counted several standing around doing nothing. -food prices might be proportional to what resort restaurant charges here but honestly, this is just palatable food with small portions

Understand, many of these customers are tourist but does not mean the service and quality can be low, the flywheel will work but this place is a waste of time and vacation. (Please learn from other people’s comments) wish the best for this place tho. Please do not comment on this and follow other...

Extremely poor service would not recommend!! We visited fish house last night after reading the glowing reviews and with knowledge that Kimpton is a well known luxury 5 star hotel brand. Unfortunately we were met with extreme disappointment and service that does not meet a 5* standard.

We waited almost 2 hours for all of our starters to be served, all served at different times with a portion of fries which were meant to be served with the main course, coming out with the starters. We had to ask for one of our starters, the calamari, four times for it then to be served with the main course.

We had to ask to be served drinks and dirty plates and glasses still remained on the table when we were leaving. When the bill came we asked for the service charge to be removed which totalled 1600 baht, which the assistant manager could not do but could remove a meal??

We never received a sincere apology for the service we were only met with claims that “we should come back in the daytime” and that it was busy although there were a lot of empty tables. A real shame as the food was lovely when we...

Since we lived nearby we want to try the restaurant to make ourselves a picture of the food. The restaurant has a lot of potential as it combines a beautiful location with a great interior. We ordered to 2 appetizers, cocktails and main courses. The appetizers were quite ok. The cocktails tasted very watery and were rather poor. For the main courses we were completely disappointed not only that the portions are very small if you bring a decent hunger, but also the preparation and taste have disappointed us very much. The juicy Tiger Prawns were also still raw. We complained about this and had them returned. They were again packed on the grill. On our reference that we have just eaten raw prawns came back no more than a smile as an answer. It is a pity that a restaurant which claims to be rather high class for the region does not know how to deal with such a situation. We were even handed the dessert card which we gratefully declined. The bill was a proud 130€. So you really pay for the view and the facility and not for the food.

Title: Mixed Experience at Fishhouse Restaurant Rating: ★★☆☆☆ (2/5) My recent visit to Fishhouse Restaurant left me with mixed feelings. While the ambience was pleasant, several aspects fell short of expectations. The food, unfortunately, did not meet the anticipated level of taste. Specifically, the prawns lacked flavor, and the overall dining experience was inconsistent, with some dishes satisfying the taste buds while others fell short. The service, though friendly, lacked proficiency. We were disappointed when the dinner towels were not provided, and the wine glasses, upon arrival, were foggy after being washed. Regrettably, the overall cost seemed disproportionately high for the experience offered. Despite the appealing ambiance, the subpar food and service make it challenging to justify the expense. In conclusion, while the ambience was commendable, the shortcomings in food quality, service proficiency, and pricing make it difficult for me to recommend Fishhouse Restaurant for a satisfactory dining experience.
