Nana Tam — Restaurant in Ko Samui

Continuing on with our four week food safari of Koh Samui.

One is the most beautiful restaurants you will ever dine in. Sit down the back under the frangipani tree next to the pond. They even have what look like crawfish in the pond that come out at night. Cool!

The staff were so friendly and kind. Very helpful. They have quite an extensive menu, mostly Thai but some European food too.

We ordered the spicy fruit salad, snapper fillet with tamarind sauce, and a pork with basil leaves (this is not moo krab pow).

The spicy fruit salad and the snapper were both 10/10. Excellent. The pork was ok, but because in my mind I was sort of expecting a moo krab pow variation, I felt it wasn't quite there. My expectation, my bad.

Drink prices are also quite good - they do a killer margarita. If we come back to Lamai we will certainly...

Had high aspirations. However the night was spoiled by unmotivated staff not understanding English and the night was spoiled by misunderstandings. The first and the last dish arrived 30 minutes from each other. So the last person ate alone. He got the wrong type of noodles than what he ordered. Condiments were requested three times and arrived whilst everyone was nearly finished. The food was good with the exception of the prawns and noodles. Prawns were cold inside the warm dish and tasted like it was done some time before. Mango Sticky rice excellent. Prices were good. Athmosphere excellent. Will I come again? No, it did not feel like Thailand with unfriendly staff. And there are lots more...

Having read good reviews about this place, we gave it a try on our first evening whilst staying at Sand Sea Resort.

It’s a lovely place! As the star ratings above show, the Food is Great. Really tasty. The Atmosphere is really good. They were playing some great 80’s music in the background when we were there. And the Service is brilliant!

We enjoyed it so much, we came back two nights later!

Unfortunately, I forgot to take any pictures. I was enjoying myself too much! However, the Tempora Vegetable starter was delicious and Huge! Easily enough for two but my wife realised that they’d have gluten in, so I had to eat them all. Shame! The frozen cocktails were also really good. We had two of those...
