Vegan Haven on Phi Phi Island with Authentic Thai FlavorsI recently had the pleasure of dining at Dow Vegetarian Vegan Restaurant on Phi Phi Island, and it was a delightful experience. The restaurant, nestled in the heart of this tropical paradise, offers a diverse menu of delicious vegan dishes, including all your favorite Thai classics with a tofu twist. The ambiance is serene, with a laid-back island vibe that complements the natural beauty of Phi Phi. The staff at Dow are not only friendly but also knowledgeable about their vegan offerings, providing excellent recommendations based on dietary preferences. Now, onto the food – each dish was a masterpiece of flavors. From fresh salads bursting with local produce to flavorful Thai-inspired vegan curries, Dow exceeded my expectations. This is a small family run restaurant which I stumbled upon. They have 2 outlets facing each other. One is completely vegan & vegetarian while the other one serves non vegetarian food as well. I spoke to the owner, Ms. Dow, and she mentioned that they were very thoughtful about consciously keeping the kitchens separate.
MS Dow, her husband and daughter run the 2 restaurants. You can find them taking orders and cleaning tables, running their business with dedication and zero fuss.
For the veg restaurant, they took over an erstwhile book store. Conscious to not destroy or throw away books, they made it a part of their wall decor. The books are neatly stacked wrapped in plastic covers. During my conversation, Ms Dow mentioned that during Covid there was less business and she used the time to wrap books in plastic to extend their life.
Ambience is cozy, service is quick, pricing is value for money and taste is pretty good. I really enjoyed my outing here.
I would strongly recommend this place for anyone on...
Read moreDo not hesitate to go here, you might think the menu is too extensive for the food to be actually good, but the food is DELICIOUS! Best vegan meal I have had in all of Thailand❤️ Staff are so friendly and accommodating. Service is quick and easy. They have mock meats, mock seafood, vegan cheese and vegan mayonaise as well. We ordered Thai food, which looks like their best options. We had the coconut red curry with fake prawns, we had fried rice with fake chicken and the flat noodles with gravy sauce, tofu and vegetable (soup like hor fan). We also had fried wontons on the side. For drinks we ordered a strawberry smoothie and mango smoothie. Very affordable pricing! Cost cafe with cute interior, the walls and ceiling are covered in books. Also the cafe across from it has a non-vegan menu from which you can also order! Wish we came here many more times!! We had breakfast there as well, I had a poke bowl which was delicious, fast and cheap. The passion fruit smoothie was also great. Thank you Dow!! You...
