So I am from the UK and Mediterranean foods were never my thing. I just find them a bit bland and samey so when we went to Efe I was not looking forward to it all to be honest.
Got to say, the food was phenomenal! Did not expect to enjoy this meal so much, let alone on an island in Thailand...
This meal changed my perspective on Mediterranean food and I might give it another shot back home. Service was also great and the young lad serving us whilst not perfect with English was knowledgable, kind and helpful.
The one thing I do not agree with is that tripadvisor lists the place as a "cheap eat". For 2 starters, 2 drinks and 2 mains we paid about 1600THB. Cheap by UK standards but local Thai food on Phi Phi can be had for 40THB - 80THB a plate so I would class this as a mid range meal.
Good: Delicious food, sauces and sides. Everything was tasty Good portion sizes. whilst I thought they were not enough I was very full by the end of the meal Free Turkish tea (Just ask! its on the menu) Staff were able to answer any questions we had about the menu and advise us on choices One of the best meals we had on Phi Phi (And Thailand) Quick and polite service
Minor: Do not agree with the "Cheap Eats" rating. I would say its a...

So here’s the story:
6 days ago we went to this place with my friend for a dinner. As we woke up pretty late it was the only food we had that day. 15-20 minutes after we paid the bill we felt some discomfort in our stomachs, 30-40 minutes later it became painful.
In 2 hours we had all the symptoms of intoxication.
It’s been 6 days since that day, my friend is better now, she’s almost recovered, but I’m still having troubles, including stomachache, high temperature and etc, even though I started to take all the medicines the next day after the dinner.
My suggestion is that it’s caused by lamb soup (we also had some kebab and falafel tho) because even when we’re eating it had a little bit strange taste (but we thought that maybe it’s just the recipe things)
So please be careful and if you’re not 100% sure, that the food is ok, it’s better to avoid than taking such risks.
I’m not a weak-stomach person but this time I got knocked out of my daily life for almost a week already, and I’m not really sure how long will it take me to fully recover.
Believe me you don’t want to experience something like that.
As for the rest:

Read more🗣️ I was looking for a memorable experience in the Phi Phi Islands, and I was not disappointed. The waiters are extremely nice and helpful. The staff is English and very friendly. The Turkish atmosphere in the restaurant is very strong, despite the fact that the lack of lighting and windows makes the space feel a little crowded and narrow. We were seated at a table when we noticed smokey plates moving through the restaurant, which made us very hungry because it smelled great. Then our food arrived all at once. Everyone was served at precisely the right time. Our table was strewn with sizzling hot plates and delectable meat dishes. Incredible flavor that is well worth the price. If you're tired of Thai food, I recommend going there for a different experience.
