Lanta Smile Beach — Restaurant in Krabi Province

I have to say I really liked this place! Turned up without a booking, they had rooms and matched the price my brother had booked his room here on booking.com. Approx 1000 bhat a night for concrete room with super comfy large bed air con and tv. Nice small bathroom and front terrace with table and chairs and a washing line. I think that’s a cracking price for sitcom and 30 second walk to the beach! Lady checking us in and running the place was super friendly and offers breakfast in the morning which is simple, yoghurt fruit and musili which again was very pleasant easy breakfast. Their season is October to end of April, so the kitchen had closed for the season at the time of our stay but she would still make breakfast for us. She is also able to arrange any excursion and rent bikes without the need of leaving your passport. If you stay here you must visit the Indian bar and see Paz do his fire show! I really enjoyed our stay here and will def be back, thanks you Lanta smile...

Yes, the staff is nice. Yes the food at the restaurant is probably as good as any of the other dozens of beach places selling the same items. The bungalows, where I stayed, are pretty basic for the price and housekeeping is fairly lax. Lots of detritus strewn around the property, which would be an excellent one day clean up project. The property is just okay.||The real issue is the jellyfish all along the beach. Go in a time or two and you will be stung. It's not the end of the world but it hurts and makes the whole experience very un-relaxing. Better choice would be a hotel just south on Long Beach. We swam all day, no problem. It is still chock full of resorts and restaurants but at least a cooling dip is possible without being stung. I don't know why this is not a better known problem here.
