The kayak they gave us was worse than the door Rose used to let Jack drown on in the film “Titanic”. I yearned for the door all day while the kayak they gave us, FULL of water from a leak, absolutely helicoptered us around the bay, as it drastically threw off the balance of the boat. When we returned, they blamed us for not coming back sooner when we were having a hard time, but it took a while to be sure the boat itself was the issue, as it was only when we finally flopped onto the beach after a harrowing time on the sea, and dragged the “kayak” onto the sand that we felt the water sloshing around in the bottom cavity of it.
NOT TO MENTION the paddles they give you are…. Inexplicably heavy… and not hydrodynamic… AND the size of the double kayak was so short that both people’s paddles are in range of each other and when you’re spending all your energy just trying to not spin in circles, smacking your paddle against your partner’s every 5th stroke becomes… soul-obliterating.
We passed other kayakers who had boats and paddles that looked like functional boats and paddles- aka it’s not just that this is what kayaks are like on Koh Phi Phi.
IF you are going to rent one of these, don’t go far. We are experience kayakers and wanted an adventure, and these are not the sea vessels to attempt much of anything on…. Unless you like spinning in circles on the...
Read moreTried renting a mask, snorkel and fins. The sign mentioned a 1000 bath deposit, which I thought was weird (as the day before we rented a kayak on another beach and weren't asked for a deposit at all) so I checked if it was really needed. It was needed so I had to walk back to my husband to get more money, to find out I would only have enough for an 800 baht deposit. Walked back to the rental place and asked if they would take 800 for deposit, but that was a hard no. It was not enough, because 'I might just take it then', like 800 for a snorkel isn't a ridiculously high price in Thailand. You're basically a thief in their eyes.
Reading other people reviews of this place, it seems like I...
Read moreExtremely unhelpful and unpleasant staff. It would be somewhat okay if they just aren’t friendly, but they genuinely don’t seem to care about human beings. My husband cut his hand quite badly on the rocks near the beach, and when he went to the bar to ask if they had any first aid kit, the lady bartender just said “no” and waved him off. No concern for his heavily bleeding hand, no direction as to where a first aid kit may be procured instead, nothing. We’d also already bought drinks from them so we were actually customers and not random people off the beach. Not like that would have excused such lack of concern either. Don’t recommend. They don’t seem at all interested in...
