May & Zin Restaurant — Restaurant in Krabi Province

Environment - this restaurant actually located in an area similar to food court concept. I came for dinner on Friday around 8pm local time. Greet by May & Zin staff and they help 15 of us to get suitable table. Very clean, calm and nice place. Very friendly staff and helpful.

Food - we order 3 prawn dishes, soft shell crab, squid and Tom Yam. Soft shell crab cook with curry powder is the star for my dinner. Size of the meal can be eat by 3 adults. If anyone come dine in this place please take 1 portion. Otherwise you will be end up with full stomach. Taste so good and highly recommend. Meal platting similar to 5 star restaurant. Amazing. Do not miss out on this place. Hard to find as it is a small vendor in a cluster of vendors just off the main road in Ao Nang. Best to head to the Holiday Inn and ask someone to point you there (about 500ft away, but we still missed it twice). The food is fantastic. The best in Ao Nang/Krabi area. Cheap, medium portions. We got there at 545 and it only took 10 min for our food. But when we left at 630 it was much busier. The service is excellent. Get the massaran curry, so good. Great Tom kha soup. Any noodle dish. Seafood is fresh. Loved the salads. We sat next to two different people who had been back every night on their trip. The menu is extensive, so we’ll be back tomorrow. Seriously, loved it. Easy...

Not sure about all the perfect ratings. Went a couple of times ordered a variety of things including the the recommended soft shell crab currry which was ok nothing special, tasted like a sweet & sour sauce with curry powder added. They use the same curry in a variety dishes including pineapple rice etc.. The beef was s bit tough but flavor was ok. Out of all the dishes the bake crab with glass noodles was the best, the crab was tender and black pepper taste does come through. The food overall was just ok with decent prices but nothing really stood out unlike the rave reviews previously.
