Good food, a little more expensive, nice ambience
Pyramids serve a variety of food - from Thai to Western dishes such as pizza and pasta, as well as Arabic / Middle Eastern cuisine. After so many days of Thai food, we wanted a change. Pyramids provided this nice change while still allowing us to tuck in to Thai favorites. The menu is extensive.
We ordered a beef kebab, garlic bread, hummus, fattoush salad (after the tabbouleh ran out), large tom yum soup (huge!!), plain rice, as well as a large Chang and small Leo beer. Everything came up to 1170B - a little more expensive than many shops.
The food was quite good though. Fattoush salad was fresh and zingy. Hummus was yummy. Do note their garlic bread is not the regular kind; it’s made with pita bread so it’s better for dipping. My other half expected regular garlic bread so he didn’t quite like it. I didn’t mind as I could use it for the hummus. The tom yum soup’s portion was huge - it can feed three! The restaurant was very generous with the seafood in the soup. We definitely over-ordered.
Ambience was nice. Everything felt clean and...
Read morePyramids Restaurant, nestled in the heart of Ao Nang, provided a culinary oasis after a long day. My wife and I opted for a comforting starter of fried calamari with fries, setting the tone for an exquisite meal. For the main course, we indulged in the pad kra pow chicken, perfectly spiced to tantalize our taste buds, and the fried soft shell crabs, a delightful crunchy delight.
This dining experience surpassed all expectations, marking it as the highlight of our six-day stay in Krabi. The food was not just delicious but meticulously prepared, showcasing the chef's expertise. However, it wasn't just the food that impressed us; the customer service was unparalleled, with attentive staff ensuring our every need was met. The ambience of the restaurant added to the charm, providing a relaxing atmosphere to savor our meal.
Moreover, we were delighted to find a diverse range of halal options on the menu, catering to various dietary preferences. Without a doubt, Pyramids Restaurant earns our highest recommendation, and we eagerly anticipate returning to relish their exceptional cuisine time...
Read moreDriving by this place almost daily, we decided to give it a shot despite the mixed reviews. We did not regret it; it was a welcome change from Thai food as we went for the middle eastern choices. The food was nicely presented and fresh, the lamb fell off the bone. Everything tasted quite nice, nothing was overbearing and nothing was just bland. Staff was friendly and the owner (?) helpful in choosing main dishes as well as drinks. Be aware, the rice portions are rather generous. For us, worth a re-visit, if only to try other dishes from the abundant choices. Edit: removed one star from service, needed to request water 3 times, the bill twice. We weren't in a hurry and it wasn't particularly busy. Room for...
