Nang An Beach Bar — Restaurant in Krabi Province

BEWARE THE SCAM!! Please read reviews as this seems to have happened a number of times! At first we thought great bar by the beach with live music, we had a nice night until it came to paying the bill! Bill came to 1460baht, I placed 2000baht in the wallet! So I was suprised to only see 40baht change! I hate getting done over so, I went to the bar and said I gave you 2000baht! They started getting aggressive shouting things at me, they knew they had been found out! I don’t know why they had to do this as I would have given them a few 100 tip anyway! It was a shame as this was our first night, of course we never stepped foot in the place after, so it was their loss as they lost out on 2 weeks of business and tips! 🤣 Please do not confuse this with the little family run beach bar next door. Nang An Beach Bar offered a decent night out. The highlight for me was definitely the live band that played in the evening, setting a lively atmosphere. Managed to snag a small table right by the beach, which was perfect for taking in the views. I went for the pineapple fried rice - it was alright, nothing too special but decent enough.

One unique thing was watching people catch crabs on the beach at night, adding a bit of local flavor to the experience. However, the downside was the amount of smoking going on around the dining area. It kind of took away from the taste of the food, which was a bummer. We were there again in 2025. Like last year, the pub is a very nice place for us to watch the sunset over a few drinks.

I rate the Nang An Beach Bar here as a sundowner location for drinks only, not for eating. The location is brilliant for the sunset, a first-class place. The mojito was very well prepared and the service was fast and friendly. It was relentless to read other reviews, there is still a 10% service charge here. This could be noted a little more prominently on the menu, but otherwise we found it a nice location and finally, they have an excellent live music and this for free for the guests.
