Me and my partner came here looking for something other than Thai food, with the ability to sit somewhere, as the market nearby doesn't really have anywhere.
We were greeted warmly, and looked through the menu, suggesting many veggie options. (And vegan stated on their sign out front).
We decided on our meals and spoke with the middle aged waiter. Where we mentioned my partner is vegan, so please no milk or meat (we didn't expect any eggs so didn't mention). We confirmed this several times with each option, especially as my partner picked the lamb naan by accident, and we said, no meat, just plain please. No milk no meat, very clearly. We were greeted with a smile and nod, and confirmation.
When the food arrives, we find paneer in the veg curry topped with cream, and lamb still in the naan. We politely mention this to the server, who again, smiles and nods. Promptly walks to the kitchen, and comes back later with food again. This time, the curry had no cream (we believe they just mixed in the cream), but still paneer. The naan came back with no butter, but still with lamb.
We again called over the waiter, who was clearly frustrated and annoyed with us, not that we wanted to complain. This time however I clearly state, vegan, several times. With confirmation they understood. They come back, with half a veggie curry (presumably they just took out the paneer and reserved it) and a plain naan. By this point however, we couldn't trust they understood and realised that this was a mistake.
I'm not saying the food was bad, as mine was lovely. But clearly there is a complete misunderstanding as to what vegan is. And instead of saying they did not know, they brought food that was not acceptable.
In the end, the waiter hid in the kitchen, and only the younger and obviously meek servers helped us. We requested the bill, and paid way more than we ate.
In future, just state you don't understand, and vegans will go elsewhere. The confrontational and obviously rude and displeased atmosphere leaves everyone...
Read moreI'm glad to see almost no one there, [I pass every day.] after the prison type slops they served to me as a takeaway truly awfull, greedy people hoping that once only passing trade will suffice. I ordered butter chicken, and aloo Gobi ( potatoes & cauliflower ) there was so little chicken in the butter chicken it was like eating soup, not a meal. The aloo Gobi was kind of ok but it was very dark colour, not normal for this dish, it's all very well the restaurant telling me they are sorry afterwards but why couldn't they have done a proper bit of cooking in the first place, probably because they just didn't care, another one off take...
Read moreToday was our first visit and we are definitely coming back again. They offer both, Thai and Indian food, we went for Indian food and it was delicious. I'm usually a meat eater, but we ordered 3 vegetarian dishes such as Paneer Butter Masala, Yellow Dal and Dal Tadka with butter naan, absolutely amazing, still can taste all those different spices. It's next to a night market, you can't miss it. And last but not least, the place is new and very clean meanwhile the stuff is...
