This was the first place we ate after coming to Koh Lanta, and what a delightful introduction to the island! I ordered a coco peanut butter smoothie bowl (pictured below) and my wife ordered a chicken burger with a coconut smoothie to share. The coconut smoothie was the creamiest, most refreshing I have had in Thailand thus far. A generous amount with perfect consistency (it was filled to the top of the container in the picture), presented with a rustic flair I have the same to say about the smoothie bowl. Very satisfying texture with a rich flavor. In addition, you can add as many toppings as you like with no added charge! I recommend adding passion fruit to anything. The chicken burger came on a fresh toasted bun, well-cooked crispy chicken that retained a prime amount of moisture, and topped with fresh lettuce and tomato. The French fries had a light crisping on the outside for a satisfying bite. Thanks to The Backyard for a laid-back, reasonably priced meal in a...
Read moreI went here 2 times on my 3 month stay in Koh Lanta. The first was during peak season and it was very busy! The food took about 45 minutes to come out and it wasn’t the best Thai food I’ve had… Additionally, there wasn’t a lot of air flow towards us (lots of fans but not where we were sat) so we were in a rush to leave to be honest. The second time was during low season, this was much better and my smoothie bowl was delicious! The reason for the 3 star review is because on both occasions, the service was very poor… The waiters seem moody, and not really interested to provide good service. The first time was very poor, the second time was still poor - even though it was quiet, I had to chase them up. Overall, would recommend for a space to take your children/baby (my baby loved the ball pit and swing, even though it does need a good clean…) but otherwise,...
Read moreWe really loved the food at this place but I need to dock two stars at least for service. When we came in no one made eye contact for 10 min (they were avoiding eye contact because they were so so busy). After 10 minutes, we started to call them over, I made eye contact with THREE staff who kind of shrugged me off. 20 minutes after we got there, the manager told them to go to our table and the food took forever to come out. Clearly they are understaffed.
It’s a pity, the food was outstanding. We had 2 kids menu (Avo Toast) and 2 Babycinos with Kids Juices. We also had an Acai Bowl and Mango Tango (Love!) and I had the drink called the Good Girl (Weird combo but delicious). Prices are slightly higher I would say worth it for the food and ambience (beautiful garden and toddler area with small playground) but definitely not worth it if the service...
