50 Baht ข้าวแกง (khao gaeng) self-service buffet. Let me just start by saying that in no universe of mine will a 50 baht curry rice buffet get anything less than 5 stars. Period.

The stall prepares a wide variety (depends on time and day) of curries, vegetables, and soups and all of it is free-flow. Even though it is a buffet, the dishes executed here are actually decent, from the stewed & stir-fried vegetables to pork & chicken curries. Although the dishes are by no means fantastic tasting on their own, and some may even stray a little from the original taste (be it too sweet, too one-dimensional etc.), the culmination of flavours when you have everything on 1 plate is still pretty damn comforting. After all, khao gaeng isn't meant to be refined or prepared with the finest of ingredients. Instead, it's meant to be fast, adequately tasty and fill you up. And this roadside eatery definitely aces that with flying colours.

P.s. If you plan to visit, do try to come slightly earlier before the lunch crowd demolishes everything since refills of a certain dish are...

warning: stay away if you don't like fish. You pay 50 baht and eat a buffet mainly consisting of fish, fish and more fish dishes. Only one dish (paneag curry) contained chicken and another one was duck. There were some pork as well. I had some of that chicken curry and stir fried veggies. Unfortunately, it was all cold and there were no chicken bits in the curry, and they didn't refill it, while they kept refilling the fish meals. I also told them that I didn't like fish. But they didn't recommend anything to me. So I had to guess. However, the buffet is located right outside of Lumphini park, which itself is an oasis of tranquility and calm in busy...

As someone in the previous reviews pointed out, there is no way one could give this less than 5 stars.

The earlier you come in the more options you will have, but they are just lovely as people. He actually reminded me that it's a buffet and I should come back for more. On a subsequent round, he checked if we like Catfish as he was frying up a fresh batch. Way better and thoughtful service than most restaurants.

Predominantly you will get Pork whenever you come in, we saw 3 different options. Some form of Shellfish will be there. If lucky then possibly Fish / Duck / Chicken...
