Throwback.bkk Rooftop Bar — Restaurant in Suriyawong Subdistrict

Throwback is a resaurant and a bar at the 9th floor of the Mall "Silom Edge". You can sit in- and outside (very nice) and enjoy the view in direction Lumphini-Park. We took place outside, because inside was live-music and it was too loud, to talk to each other. Outside it was loud also, but i asked to put the volume down, so they did. You need to look for the menu with a QR-Code and enjoy a very long download from the "39 mb Menu" (maybe my internet is too slow for this). The menu is a mix from thai and international food, there are a lot of starters, soups and main dishes and a long menu for cocktails, mocktails and wines and some soft drinks. There is no dessert available. The mocktails where exellent and the price is with 250 Baht ok for that. The cocktails are with 400 Baht a little bit expensive. The meal was fine, but the portion ist very small, so you better order 2 or 3 dishes, what will make the evening a little bit too expensive. The service is friendly but they are not able to serve meals for 2 people at the same time, so my friend was longtime finished with his meal, when my meal was coming. The chairs a little bit too hard, to stay for a long time. They will charge 10% for service and 7% for taxes on top of your bill, so don´t wonder, if the bill is a little bit higher, than expected.

All in all: 4 stars for a solid offer, nice service and the ambience - but in every respect: there is still some air up everywhere...

I made a reservation three days before visiting the restaurant and specifically chose an outdoor table on the farthest side of the terrace. However, when we arrived, the staff claimed they hadn’t confirmed my reservation. But as shown in the photo, they confirmed it not once but twice! Despite this, they gave us a table I didn’t like.

To make matters worse, the staff member who greeted my guest was extremely rude and treated us like we were a nuisance. We had to wait for another table to become available before they moved us to the one I originally reserved with the terrace roof view.

Overall, the experience was terrible. We tried to salvage the night, but it was already ruined. What was supposed to be a HAPPY BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION turned into a nightmare, leaving me embarrassed and...

Throwback.bkk offers a fantastic dining experience with a great mixture of Western and Thai cuisine.

The prices are decent, especially considering the area and venue.

The beverage selection is impressive, featuring cocktails, a variety of draft beers, wines, and liquors.

Their signature cocktails are particularly interesting and well-crafted.

The venue often hosts daily live bands, and occasionally features performances by famous Thai bands, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.

The staff is friendly and the crowd is stylish, making for an enjoyable and lively ambiance.
