Walking into this place, you're immediately hit with a vibrant, bustling energy—and not just from the crowd, but from the close quarters themselves. The seating is a masterclass in minimalist design; the chairs, with their perfectly perpendicular 90-degree backrests, are a testament to the idea that comfort is overrated when the food is this good. The tables are so cozy, you'll be on a first-name basis with your neighbor's elbow in no time. But all of that fades away as soon as the food arrives. It's clear that every inch not spent on seating was poured into the kitchen. The lunch set is an incredible value, letting you choose a main curry with either naan or basmati rice. While the butter chicken leaned a bit too heavily into the sweet side for my taste, the chicken tikka masala was pure perfection—creamy, rich, and perfectly spiced. The staff are just as impressive as the food. They're a whirlwind of efficiency, navigating the tight space with a friendly, helpful demeanor. They have a genuine service mind that makes you feel welcome, even as you're carefully maneuvering to avoid bumping into the table next to you. It's no surprise this spot is always packed. The delicious food, fantastic prices, and excellent service more than make up for the cramped seating. Just be sure to stretch...

Tucked away among the food court-style restaurants inside the One Bangkok mall, Zafran may not look fancy at first glance—but don’t let that fool you. This small, welcoming Indian eatery offers an unexpectedly delightful dining experience. Unlike the surrounding stalls, Zafran provides comfortable indoor seating, which immediately sets it apart.

The service was outstanding—our waiter was attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about the food. As for the dishes themselves, every bite was flavorful, fresh, and deeply satisfying. My wife, daughter, and I found ourselves devouring the meal like we hadn’t eaten in days—not because we were hungry, but because it was that good.

Zafran is an easy place to overlook, but one you’ll be glad you didn’t. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic Indian food in a casual,...

I've walked by the restaurant dozens of times and finally stopped to give it a try. Very happy with that choice. I got the big set menu which was plenty of food with lots of different dishes and tastes. Each and every dish was so delicious that I would definitely order that combo set again. It's a nice small restaurant but when you're a single diner it's nice to be able to sit by the edge and watch everybody passing by in the mall. Staff spoke English and we're very friendly I'm very helpful about my questions about the different dishes. When they start cooking it smells so good In the restaurant. Great portion size very delicious and loved the little dessert ball at the end....

Up until recently, Indian food lovers in Bangkok were underserved. Yes, there were good places in Silom, the old town, and parts of Sukhumvit, but nothing in mega malls, community malls, and other prominent public places. Thank goodness then, for Zafran which offers a good selection of Indian classics in new malls around town. Quality-wise, the food does the job (though my naan bread was a bit dense), not spectacular but just fine to meet an Indian food fix. Prices are not too bad, and judging by the number of guests when I dined, Zafran is pretty popular.
