This restaurant truly lives up to its reputation! I’ve been wanting to try it for a while, but it’s always fully booked. Today, I finally got the chance, and wow, it did not disappoint. From the very first thing served—the butter—I could already tell this place was special. The butter wasn’t ordinary; it was sprinkled with salt and pepper, something I’ve never seen before. Absolutely delightful! They gave plenty of bread too, enough to fill you up, and the bread was amazing. It was sourdough, freshly baked, with a lovely yeasty aroma. If I had finished it all, I would’ve been full before the meal even started!
Tip: The portions here are huge, so if you’re dining alone, don’t order too much—you might not be able to finish it.
I started with a rocket salad, and wow, it was incredibly delicious and refreshing. The fresh veggies and the roasted red peppers added a sweet, smoky flavor, with a soft and delicate texture that just melted in your mouth. The salad dressing was perfectly balanced and generously served—no skimping here! It was such a treat.
For the main dishes, I ordered the Truffle Risotto and Lasagna. Just the presentation alone was stunning, and the taste was out of this world. The risotto was infused with the aroma of various mushrooms, including chanterelles, which are quite rare in our country. This particular mushroom has a unique flavor that elevates any dish. As for the lasagna, it came in a massive portion and took a little time to bake, but it was so worth the wait. Its vibrant colors and bold flavors were outstanding—I couldn’t help but smile after every bite.
For dessert, I had the Tiramisu, and oh my, I don’t even need to say it was delicious because everything was already amazing. It was smooth and creamy, topped with caramel, and the presentation at the table was so impressive. It was truly a feast for the eyes, heart, and stomach.
Lastly, I have to mention the staff. They were incredibly attentive and had exceptional service-mindedness. They constantly checked in to make sure I was happy, and honestly, I was beyond happy. My first visit was perfect, and I’m already certain there will be a...
Read moreIt was okay. I've been recommended it several times but I was not very impressed. The queue was long and it seemed like queueing was exclusively based on table size, not 'ok, these couples have been waiting a lot longer -- let's give them a table for 4 instead of the group that came five(?) minutes ago'. They did feel bad for the people waiting and brought around drinks, which was nice.
Once we sat down, service was pretty quick to begin with. A couple tiny flies but that can hardly be helped.
One dish was quite poor. I'd be just as happy with a supermarket equivalent (ravioli). Other one was pretty good. I'd say it's the same standard as Mozza and co. I still prefer Bacco, Limoncello, Rossano's, etc.
Wait staff dropped off (or attempted to drop off) 3 items at our table incorrectly. She did randomly start pouring water, so it's good it was not added to our bill. Wait staff should also serve from the right, not across the table.
Our plates were replaced a couple of times, which was good but the second set each had like an oily thumbprint on it, which was a bit off-putting so we asked to return said plates.
Tables are too close together, which is fine for a hole-in-the-wall place like Pala but it's not what you would expect at a restaurant like this.
Overall, I might come again if I find myself at the Parade building and looking for Italian food but I wouldn't otherwise plan...
Read moreReserved a dinner at this restaurant. Wide selection of dishes to choose from. The restaurant was very crowded with waiting queue. The red wine and burrata salad were our right selection, whereas the beef hanger steak was a mismatched.
The reason for my given high rating was the staffs’ excellent service. My first choice of wine has run out of stock and the sommelier recommended alternatives but those were out of my budget. He was very patient and I was convinced by his confidence to find a suitable replacement. Next, restaurant manager (i think) came to our table to ask for feedback and I shared with her about my opinion on the beef hanger and that my wife felt very disturbed. She apologized immediately and made arrangement to replace with another dish of my wife’s favourite, butter mushroom. Another surprised for the night, my wife and I caught off guard with a birthday dessert offered by the restaurant, despite me or my wife did not inform them about my date of birthday. It is avail in the restaurant’s data system input during booking registration.
As the restaurant was crowded, likely due to long weekend holiday, the tables and chairs arrangement was very narrow and the staffs’ movement have therefore affected our mood. Nevertheless, while we were disturbed, the busy condition is understandable as well as forgivable since the ambient and deco setting...
