Me and my dad have found this place by chance on our first night in Thailand and would come back every day: seeing us a bit isolated, John the owner and his wife invited us to join their large table of friends. We found out those were all people who basically met in Duke’s and have enjoyed so much, they kept coming back and knowing each other! Some of them come back to Mai Khao just for this unique atmosphere; we “adopted “ one of these travelers for some days and have travelled together:) The kitchen is delicious, I went for thai dishes and had the best deep fried fish ever made by a thai young girl; also the Tom Kha was very tasty compared to lot of others. We had fun, we felt home, have made a party, had headache, and then fun again. Anne, John’s wife, is also a great massage therapist and in 15 minutes has solved my tendinitis better than doctors have in one month in Europe. When leaving Thailand, we did an extra trip to Mai Khao before our flight just to meet these sunny people again and say thank you & goodbye. Definitely a place to go! Hugs from Andrea & dad Dusan to the whole staff & Brian & Alex & Eve & Big C ( a stray dog...
Read moreI discovered it by chance as it was on the way to my hotel. Attracted by the relaxed, friendly atmosphere, the restaurant quickly became my favourite on Mai Khao Beach. The staff, especially the boss John, and his team are incredibly friendly and the atmosphere is very pleasant and cosy thanks to the international clientele. The food is excellent and the price is absolutely reasonable. The cheapest beer in the area was at Duke's. There is a pool table and if the mood is right, there is dancing. All in all, a must if you are on Mai Khao Beach.
I would like to thank John and his team, especially Nana and Samy, for the lovely time we had with you and I look forward to...

You can’t beat the prices. Absolutely fantastic service and even better food and drinks. You can park in front of the restaurant. It’s right off the main street. First me our kids actually finished in over two weeks.
Definitely check it out! All different kinds of people were there. It was me and my husband, our four children. Even had a cute shark beanbag for my two-year-old so she could eat. Lol can’t rav about this place enough.
They also gave my kids free little chocolate suckers...
