Baan Larb Restaurant — Restaurant in Patong

As others have said, this is a very authentic Thai restaurant and is much much more affordable than elsewhere in Patong. Ordered the crispy pork and red chicken curry (server originally brought out pork in the curry despite me asking for chicken, but they were able to bring out the correct dish quite quickly). The pork was pretty tough and not as crispy as I’ve had elsewhere, probably could’ve been cooked for a shorter amount of time and at a higher heat (not a chef..). But the flavour on it was very very good. The mango sticky rice was incredible and finally matched a dish we had in Bangkok at the beginning of our trip which we thought could never be beat. Must get it! Only comment I’d add is that our server was .. silent, almost angry. But I don’t need to make friends with a server if they’re doing their job so...

This was one of the best meals of my entire life. I spent two weeks traveling Thailand and this was the greatest meal of the whole trip. My wife and I have dined at Michelin starred restaurants across the world and I felt this meal was as good or better than any of those. Absolutely amazing! This restaurant and the chef deserve to be famous! The red curry ruby fish was the best fish I've ever had. We also ordered the Tom Yum Shrimp soup, morning glory, pork larb, and mango sticky rice. All were amazing and the best in Thailand. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The prices were unbelievable for the quality of food. I would visit Phuket just for this restaurant alone. I will dream about this meal. Thank you Baan...

Worth venturing a little out of the main strip. We read great reviews and the clean Thai style restaurant didn't disappoint. Beautifully flavoured fresh whole fish. (350 baht each for quality seafood) My husband the soy steamed snapper - tasty with delicious vegetables. I had the sweet and sour ruby fish. My husband can't eat very spicy so it was good for him, not too spicy. Service friendly and attentive and restaurant clean and cared for. So many things on the menu looked good so we'll be back! Add a Tom Yum and chicken noodle...
