ANIMAL ABUSE!!! PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS 🤬… We booked to go see the Elephants at Splash Cafe in Phuket. On arrival it looks lovely but after viewing the elephants with other visitors my kids started to cry to see how cruel the workers were to the elephants - sitting on them and kicking them, hitting them with a stick and other times with the spike on the end. I have never seen anything so cruel. We decided to leave as it just didn’t sit well with us and it was horrendous to watch the cruelty. While waiting for our lift back to the reception area 2 of the elephant handlers passed by on 2 elephants and when they spoke to us we just stated that “it wasn’t good” in reference to the elephant being hit with the spike and stick to which the staff member became quite aggressive and abusive and gesturing in an abusive manner. For a finish I had to tell him to move on. At reception I hardly had opened my mouth and I was handed a full refund without question. I cannot reiterate enough how cruel and badly treated the elephants are in this place and no one should support...

Read moreThe Splash Café in Phuket is, quite frankly, one of the worst places I’ve visited. If you’re thinking of enjoying a nice coffee with a view of elephants, think again. The reality is far from what you’d expect. Elephants are ridden around the area, which feels exploitative and uncomfortable, not charming. You can’t help but feel that these magnificent animals are being treated more as a tourist attraction than being cared for.
As for the café itself, the overpriced drinks are nothing to write home about. A basic iced coffee costs a shocking 165B, which is three times the price you’d pay at other, much better cafés around the area. The quality doesn’t justify the price at all—it’s just an overpriced, underwhelming experience all around. If you value your money and want to have a pleasant time, I’d recommend skipping this...
