Arrived at Tri Trang hotel on the 12th of May at about 16:30 and was welcomed with a delightful and refreshingly cold fruit juice in a champagne glass. I booked the eco double room, with a double bed (not twin) about a month prior to arrival. Whilst checking in, the receptionist asked if I wanted the twin bed, to which I replied in the negative. So far so good. . . Once checked in, a bell boy carried the luggage to the room. We went up a flight of stairs, across a bridge spanning the road to reception, passed a top pool, some more stairs and then luckily an elevator. In 35 degree humid weather, the lift was appreciated. Finally arrived at the room 4402, I was pleasantly surprised at what a spacious room and bathroom I received. There is a reason hotels have economy rooms, the less desired rooms, at more budget/economy/special prices. And I am aware of this, so this room looked amazing. The bed was a king size and I was pleased. Ten minutes after arriving, a worker was at the door to fix the Tv cable, that I hadn't switched on yet and didn't even know is faulty. He fiddled around for 5 minutes unsuccessfully. I thought to myself, that I didn't come to watch tv, but to enjoy the beach etc. and that the next day they would sort it out. As I was lying on the bed, I noticed that it was 2 mattresses pushed together. I dialed 0 for reception and was told that economy rooms are all twins. They just push the mattresses together with a sheet to cover the gap. He was polite and spoke fairly good English. Off to the beach finally. A bit of a walk. Take the lift down, passed the pool that was passed on arrival, back over the bridge, down a flight of stairs to a lift and finally to the beach. . . What a truly great experience. Warm, calm, tropical water. Fantastic. I was enjoying the beach with about only 40-50 others. So not too many for the beach. Most probably 80% Russians on holiday (I understood why the menu and signs were in Russian). Once again I have to say that the warm water and white sand is awesome.
Once I got back to the hotel room later the evening, I noticed the constant humming sound the aircon was making when on. I would rate the noise level a 3 out of 10 for the aircon unit, that was humming/droning away outside. Once switched off it would be peacefully silent, downside would be the heat though. I choose the humming over the heat. Besides the incessant humming of the aircon unit outside, the aircon unit in the room, decided to dazzle me with a rain display. Creating a puddle of water next to the bed and as it was dripping, adding another noise to deal with.
At 05:45, roosters decided to declare to all, that they're present. It is currently 08:16 and they haven't stopped yet.
I will be making a turn at reception to find out what my options are to pay for an upgrade at this 4 star establishment.
After my trip to reception, I am glad to say that, the atrocious room is a thing of the past and I can say hello room with a view.
They offer a shuttle service to town specified times, with the last return shuttle leaving JungCeylon at 18:00. It can take about 35 people. Try to be there 15 minutes prior to departure, as it can become extremely full time. They are punctual with their...
Read moreVery cozy, beautiful and comfortable beach is a good place to relax! Its coastline stretches for a distance of about 730 meters - it is a medium-sized beach.
You can find a place in the shade - here they left a casuarina forest belt, which throws natural shade on the beach.
There are no sun beds and umbrellas, which would be available for rent. But there are swings and a local attraction - an elephant, with which you can swim in the sea. Therefore, it will be interesting and fun for both adults and children!
The entrance to the sea is very comfortable, the depth is average, the water is transparent. Here there are no low tides (watch the tides in the appendix) and you can swim all day long. The beach is notable for the fact that you can swim here in the rainy season, this is due to the fact that there is a reef, which dampens the waves before they come to the shore.
