Sunshine view restaurant — Restaurant in Patong

Very disappointing indeed. We ate thai food. We felt it was overpriced and low quality. The View was the only 5*. There was nothing remarkable about the restaurant design itself, simple. The food & drinks menu is what you will find on any simple restaurant anywhere. We chose the place based on its high reviews and as this place is out of the way, we had to travel to get there. We are also business owners here in Phuket, and know the restaurant/service industry well, my girlfriend is Thai and I am from UK . Firstly - The coconuts were not "good quality". We sell coconuts and know how important it is to find a good supplier, staff here told us these are from "Makro" a well known cheap shop. Secondly, the Tom yum was overly sour & Salty, without sweetness meaning very unpalatable. The prawns for the Tom Yum did not taste fresh, we ate only one cost-280bht. The Crab in the papaya salad did not look or taste fresh and the sauce was bland cost - 280bht. We regularly eat great quality thai food that is far superior to this, and 1/3rd of the price. With the abundance of amazing seaview restaurants around, theres so SO many better places out there to eat. Really unsure how this place got such high reviews? Maybe the Indian food is good, but...

With Google's 4.9 rating we went there to try lunch but was totally disappointed by their food quality. Yes the view is outstanding and their service is fast. They were cheerful and welcoming. Many of the review said their Indian dishes were top notched. Best in Phuket. So we ordered chicken butter masala, paneer makhani and naan. The most ordered Indian dishes. Although the food looked good, but upon tasting it was utterly totally disappointing. The chicken was dry and the gravy was watery. The paneer makhani was the same. The gravy was watery, tasteless and u can hardly find any paneer in there..

To the owner of the restaurant. I got no beef with u. I reviewed what I felt after having food in your restaurant. All that glitters isn't gold. It looks good but tasteless. The butter chicken we couldn't finish, we hardly ate 2 or 3 pieces of chicken and took the paneer cubes out of the gravy and ate that. We even left the naan. Yes we didn't said anything to the waitress as I know I m not visiting this restaurant again.

If anyone wants to try good Indian food go to Amritsr restaurant opposite...

Sunshine View is a little gem of a restaurant overlooking TriTrang Beach and Patong Bay. They offer an extensive menu of seafood, Thai, Indian and Western dishes, including pizza and burgers. I was greeted warmly upon arrival and managed to obtain seating where I had an amazing sea view. I fancied Indian for a change and opted for the Butter Chicken curry paired with butter naan bread, and so glad I did. The curry was buttery and creamy and flavours finely balanced with just a hint of fruitiness and spice. Chunky chicken pieces were tender and juicy and the portion size was perfect. One of the best Butter Chickens I have had. Considering the location prices were very reasonable; bank cards are accepted too with 3% surcharge.
