Lindas is No more. For the last 10 Years i have had a nice luxuary meal with lovely service at Lindas but the time has past. I come to jomtien once or twice a year and have always loved to eat at Lindas. Now its Called a taste og norway. Today my sister had their Australia burger. I ordered lasagne with tomato sauce and the vaitress assured IT had no meat but IT was a beef and tomato sauce. On the plate was a small salat and to slices og bread too. I had to let the lasagne go back to the Kitchen since i am vegetarian. Told Them to make mee a pasta with tomato sauce. Then the vaitress came with a pasta with tomato sauce. No salat and No bread. Both my sisters burger and my pasta had absolutely No taste and No spices. IT was awful food. In the old Days the starter was often a bruschetta free of charge. When you arrived you had a White cloth to wipe your Face and staff spoke english or Linda herself helped out. Now the staff dont speak english or Norwegian and the restaurant do not at All live Up to good taste . A pasta with tomato sauce is derved with parmesan cheese and a burger at a place like this should be juicy and not weldone or staff should ask if you want IT medium or "killed" . So i miss you Linda and sad you are No more. Linda always brugt a fruit liquer while er waited for the Bill. A taste og norway brougth nothing. I wont ever go back because IT is bad food now and not...
Read moreI don’t know what part of Norway this is suppose to taste like, but I am glad that I am not from those parts of the country.
This used to be a good place to go when you needed a break from Thai food, but not anymore. Never have I seen that many flies when dining indoors in Thailand… I am not even sure I have seen that many outdoors either.
Still decided to give the food a try. Ordered some different dishes and something to drink. First I got served a Vanilla Milkshake that I had to return because it tasted like it was made using milk (or ice cream) that had gone more bad than Freddy Krueger. Drinking that shake would be a shortcut to a few very bad days. On the positive side they took it back and offered to make a new one, but after tasting the first one I had to kindly decline the offer.
We really tried to enjoy the food, and it wasn’t all bad. The gravy tasted somewhat close to how it should taste like, and the Coca-Cola was ok straight out of the can. All other items felt like they had been made by someone who might not actually like to cook.
Location is good, and with a few major adjustments this could return to being a cozy little restaurant. We will not visit again unless they really step up the game and put some passion...
Read moreI was just passing by, and on the menu page outside the restaurant the price under the photo of the plate read: 790 baht.
Now, i did not even go inside. As i told, i was just passing by. Also, I'm pretty sure they have cheaper options (surely). So this 3-star mark may not sound fair. But.. But guys.. I have allergy to expensive menu prices. Even it's some special plate.
In Chiang Mai one German friend put in his restaurant this price: "Breakfast for two: 1,200 baht"
Of course it's free economy..Of course it's supply & demand. But i don't know. I find these prices expensive. Although, this is my personal opinion, which means it may not suit everyone.
For me 125 thb small latte price in Starbucks is also expensive. It may be normal in the U.S., Canada or Baltic countries. But it's high according to average earnings Thailand.
Of course -again- not every business must set their prices for Thai people. This is also...
