First of all, this is not the old place on Pattaya Klang. Yes, name and logo are the same, but location and owner are not. I tried the brunch buffet at 395 (per their admission, promotional price and It will increase). Very short summary: if you look for a simple breakfast, too expensive. If you look for a full brunch/lunch, great price although missing some proteins. If you simply eat a lot and want variety for your breakfast, then price and variety will be ok for you at 395. Let's dive into the details. Included are one hot and one cold beverage. Coffee is very good, done with a proper coffee machine, cappuccino available too (I hate cinnamon and I told them to put cocoa on top, otherwise I would have received it, please tell me where this cinnamon craze originated from). They are a bakery too, so you can expect good bread and good pastries. Talked to the owner/chef, they basically make all their desserts (creme brulee, chocolate mousse, creme caramel, around 10 of them, all very good). On the salty side, many choices too. From 2 different pizzas to some very tasty poached eggs (Turkish style if I remember well), some real ham/real salami/olives, expensive cheese (brie for example), filled salty croissants (ham, mushroom, a lot of specific combinations), many fancy salads, and on the hot side bacon, mushrooms, pad Thai, baked potatoes, and several others - I am not into hot dishes for breakfast, so check the pics/videos for the details. If I must think about something comparable, at the moment I can compare it with Casa Pascal, with pro and cons. Casa Pascal costs less (385 minus the discount of the points card, and ladies pay 50%), and you have unlimited BBQ (pork, chicken, sausages, bacon, and all eggs/omelettes), plus unlimited time. Here, you have 1.5 hours and price will go up, so it will not be comparable anymore, but it's open until 3 (so it can really become a lunch). Coffee is better, but you get only one. More bakery and sweet choices, but you miss all the BBQ offers from Casa Pascal. Cheeses are somehow better, but I couldn't find anything fish related, while at Casa Pascal you always have pickled fish and most of the times some other kind of fish too. So, in general, I would say this is a very good place, more focused on carbo, while Casa Pascal is more focused on proteins. When the price increases, it won't make sense for a basic breakfast - too expensive - but for a lunch/brunch it will be a nice new place in Jomtien if you fancy more bakery things and, in general, things fancier than the average buffet. If you love BBQ, meat or fish, then Casa Pascal offers more of that for less price. Overall, a great new place...
Read moreWent in with expectations a bit on the low side, because let’s face it, we’ve been able to buy good coffee all over Thailand for years now. Ordered my usual hot Americano with milk on the side, which is exactly what they brought me and as I raised the cup to my lips the aroma suggested that this was going to be the rarest of things, a perfect cup of coffee, which it was. However, taste in hot drinks is a personal thing and your mileage, as the old saying goes, may differ. Their light English breakfast has to be the best value for money for many a mile: hot, well presented with a fresh salad, tasty and cheap as chips. I’m not sure how the manage this at the price, I just hope they don’t stop. So...most excellent coffee, great breakfast, airy, clean, comfortable, lovely air-con, muzak kept well turned down – all good. What makes it stupendous is the wonderful staff. They’re welcoming, nicely turned out, neat, professional, careful and above all able to convey that precious sense that, as their customer, you are a real person and worth something. I’ve no idea what they’re paid but it isn’t enough! Watch and learn, Jomtien, watch and learn – this is how people like to be treated. Negs.? It’s spartan and vast, not an intimate space for all its comfort. Floor-to-ceiling windows are lovely if on the other side of the plate glass there’s a rolling view of the Pacific; Jomtien Second Road, not so much. I’m also mildly curious about the scattergun approach: pizza, check; Thai food, check; western food, check; cakes & pastries, check...could it use a little more focus, perhaps? Go for that one perfect USP that nobody else can match...just a thought. Anyway, I couldn’t resist buying a half baguette to take away for lunch. With an apple and a slice of cheese I bet it’s going to...
Read moreUpdate, September 18th, 2024 STILL NEGATIVE! Even outside there is bright white agressive Light, not comfortable to enjoy or sit. Nobody here (inside and outside), exept us. The Staff asked friendly but to often about Food, because the Boss pushing them to force the customer to order she said. The Cappuccino came just bored, no Foam and without any love prepared. As some other said, change the concept, dim the light and try again. We will definetly not come back a 3trd time.
Not the best experience today, Monday September the 9th, 2024. One of the many new restaurants in Pattaya. Looks modern and open space, you can sit inside and outside. The range of dishes (if you dont only want bread) is very limited, only French toast breakfast, sandwiches, pasta and pizza. Not everything on the menu is available, the prices are very high for the Central Pattaya area with the big competition and good quality of other bistros and only aimed at tourists. The restaurant is uncomfortable, much too bright, even during the day the LED spotlights are much too strong and blind you when you want to sit comfortably and eat. The staff is not trained yet and very unmotivated, you have to ask them to clear the table three times. We will maybe try it again in a few days before we will recomment to friends, hopefully salads and better dishes will be available then. Good is the carpark...
