I really don't like leaving negative views, it can be harmful to a business, but wow, this needs saying. Have been visiting Chill Inn for years. It has a nice vibe, is chilled like the name suggests and always has a good number of customers. Food is pretty good, not amazing, but good value and menu is varried. But point of my post. Chill Inn has the most rudest set of waitress staff I have witnessed in Pattaya. Always miserable and seem to have a chip on their shoulders. I have witnessed at least 4 epidodes of this in aprox 15 visits. First time a group of people were being seated, but didn't understand where to sit. Staff member literally screaming at them where to sit. So rude and cold. Next two episodes were with ourselves. Girlfriend asked for a menu ... waitress just scorned and banged it on the table. When we asked to order, waitress sighed. Jeez, I know people can have an off day ... but don't treat your customers like this. Maybe your Eastern European customers are ok with this, but the level of abrubptness we have witnessed on several occassions isn't great. My girlfriend refuses to visit now, so I have to come alone. Review would have been a 4 star for food, comfort and value, but some of your staff leave a lot to be desired and need a lesson in customer service. Maybe owner could review ... thanks.
UPDATED Thank you for your reply.
But what should I have done ?
Ok, I’ll try and help you as I like your food. For a start you weren’t there on any occasion, and secondly, the main culprit who swans round the place like she own’s it, we assumed was the manager or your partner. Myself, and my gf definitely, are not confrontational people, so we just chill and put it down to experience. Because it wasn’t a one off … the review is here …. sorry. I only wrote it because I wanted to visit yesterday but my gf refused because of your staff.
Your answer should have been, apologies, we are glad you enjoy our food, and we will have a meeting with staff to ensure they understand the importance of customer service, and perhaps not shift the blame to a customer. A smile costs nothing. Not meaning to harm your business, constructive criticism or opinion helps any business improve. You are lucky I am being nice, the numerous comments referencing your staff with bad attitudes are clear to read.
Your food...
Read moreI’ve eaten here many times in the past. Food is average, not exceptional but definitely not bad. Price is pretty good. Location is convenient for public transport and motorcycles but there isn’t much parking for cars in the area. Service is usually below average. Having said all that there are three things service staff must do and if they can’t do them they’re literally worthless in that role and should be replaced. They need to take orders, deliver orders and take payment. Today my waitress earned a 0.5 out 3. She took my order and brought my food then ghosted me. I never saw her again. I wanted to order more food and another drink so I pushed the call button. Nothing. I pressed it again and made sure it lit up. Still nothing. Tried to get any server’s attention several times. Nope. Finally gave up and cancelled the order request and hit the pay bill button. Waited. Hit the button several more times. Finally after around 20 minutes I gave up and decided to leave. I thought about just walking away. After all, if they don’t want me to pay bill who am I to force them but decided two wrongs don’t make a right so I walked to where all the waitresses were sitting in the back of the shop and voiced my concerns. They couldn’t have cared less so I paid my bill, took my change not leaving a tip, and made a mental note to eat elsewhere...
Read moreAfter reading the excellent reviews about Chill Inn, my wife and I went there with high expectations, and we weren’t disappointed! The relaxing atmosphere was complemented with quick and friendly service. A lemon tea and mango smoothie were served in a flash, both hit the spot. Changing French fries to mashed potato was done without any fuss or a charge - the taste of creamy butter still lingers. We both had the cevapcici (220 baht), and my first taste of Balkan food has me hooked because the taste and size of the portions were off the charts. Loved the two sauces, salad, bread, crispy French fries and, of course, the succulent meat. We will find accommodation near soi 10, so we can make the short walk and happily add a little extra to our waistlines. Thank you to everyone who has made us want to come...
