My recent stay at Golden Beach Hotel Pattaya was incredibly disappointing. From the moment we arrived, we experienced numerous issues that seriously detracted from our stay. Firstly, there was no bell desk assistance offered upon arrival. This was particularly problematic as we were traveling with an infant, making the check-in process inconvenient and stressful. When we got to our room, we immediately noticed blood stains on the bed sheets. This was alarming, and when we requested housekeeping to change them, they were suspicious of us and hesitant to comply. Another issue was with the tea and coffee supplies. They replenish these only once a day, and when we asked for more, even offering to pay, the staff were rude and uncooperative. The condition of the towels provided was unacceptable. They were brown in color, implying that they do not use bleach detergent for cleaning, which is a standard practice for disinfecting linen in upper-category hotels. Some of the towels were even torn. During checkout, they attempted to charge us for a stain, accusing us of causing damage. They even asked our Thai driver to vouch for us. Fortunately, I was able to catch their bluff as I have a background in hospitality management. The so-called “stain” was just a few drops of baby food that we had wiped off, leaving only water to dry. The breakfast offering was also subpar. Although there were Indian options, they tasted like stale Indian food. The only acceptable item was the tea. Overall, I have informed our travel agency to avoid booking this hotel for future trips. Despite its Google star rating, this hotel seems suitable only for bachelors visiting Pattaya for fun, and is not a good choice for families. Additionally, the staff’s behavior towards Indian guests was disrespectful, treating us as though we were a nuisance. I would not recommend Golden Beach Hotel Pattaya to anyone seeking a comfortable and respectful stay.

Location: It is located within various entertainment areas and just across the Pattaya Central Mall. The Pattaya Night Market is half a block from the hotel. Several bars and restaurants are within walking distance. The beach is also sort of just across the street. You can walk from the Pattaya Central Mall to the beach. Room: Spacious and clean. Lighting is adequate. Hot water: No complaints about hot water. Running hot water available in shower and sink. Air Condition: This wa working well and was easy to control the temperature. No excessive noise from the unit. TV: Not many channels are available. Balcony: The room had a balcony, but the balcony is relatively small. Wardrobe/Closet: Adequate space provided for hanging clothes. It is better than most of the places within this price range. Food: They do have a restaurant within the hotel I did not eat at the restaurant. Soundproof: The rooms were relatively soundproof. I could not hear the next door occupants. Not sure if the rooms were empty. WiFi: Good Refrigerator: Small but sufficient to hold your basic needs. Microwave: None provided Kettle/Coffee/Tea: Electric kettle is provided and two bottles of free water is also provided. You can make tea in the room with the two free tea bags provided. Bathroom: Basic toiletries and bath towel and hand towel. Shower cubicle. Spacious bathroom. Lighting is something that could be improved. Specially for people to shave. Socket Near Bed: Sockets are available near the bed Elevator: Did not have to sit too long for the elevators although the traffic was heavy. They have many group bookings in the hotel and bus loads of tourists land up at the same time. Breakfast: They have two different spaces, one for Indian and the other American. Both a little above basic. Nothing great.

Golden Beach Hotel in Pattaya enjoys one of the most convenient locations for travelers looking to explore the heart of the city. We stayed in a twin cart room, and the experience was pleasant overall. The room was clean, spacious, and well-maintained, with prompt room service that really stood out. The staff were polite, hardworking, and attentive—always ready to help, and their dedication added a personal touch to our stay. What makes this hotel particularly attractive is its location. Just about 400 meters from the beach, and only 100 meters from Pattaya Central, it offers easy access to key areas. It’s also just a short walk to Terminal 21 mall and is surrounded by Indian restaurants, open markets, and shops—making it a perfect base for tourists who love to explore on foot. However, one concern that stood out was the check-in time. While the 2 PM check-in is standard in many hotels, it becomes inconvenient for international travelers whose flights often arrive early in the morning. Waiting long hours in the lobby can be tiring, especially for families or senior guests. It would be helpful if the hotel could consider flexible check-in options based on arrival patterns of different nationalities. The complimentary breakfast was another area that could use improvement. The food variety was limited, the taste was just average, and the breakfast area was overcrowded, making it a bit uncomfortable. Despite these issues, Golden Beach Hotel remains a good option for its prime location and dedicated staff. With a few thoughtful changes, it could offer a much more satisfying stay for future guests

Will straight get to the review. Things that did not work for me:

  1. WiFi: The WiFi in the room was terrible. When we called reception at 1:40 am in the morning of August 12, 2025, we were told "There are to many people using WiFi, come to lobby if you want to use internet!" and the person at the reception hung up the phone. I was astonished at this. We were told WiFi in room is a part of the service you get for the payment you make. The careless attitude was disturbing. Why do I need to go to the reception? Plus the person at the other end wasn't even apologetic about the issue. On the contrary, they acted like they were doing us a favour.
  2. Cockroaches: There were many small cockroaches in both rooms assigned to us.
  3. There was a lot of noise on the floors throughout the nights I stayed, mostly yelling and running around. It was nuisance. If you are traveling with family, you might want to avoid this hotel as it is not very 'family friendly'.
  4. Communication gap: A lot of staff here do not speak even basic English and that can cause conflict. I wore a Nylon T-shirt and shorts to the pool and the security guard there told me something which I did not understand due to his thick accent. I was not sure what he said and asked him to repeat. After a little to and fro, I got what he said, he wanted me to take off my T-shirt. I was not sure why and hence asked him why I needed to take the T-shirt off as it was pool wear and the same material as my shorts? He did not understand. He just kept repeating 'Shirt off'. I did not mind it too much and took off my T-shirt, but it would be great if I understood the reason for asking me to take my shirt off. Some English training would go a long way or maybe more clear written instructions about pool wear??
  5. Indians may not like the food a lot. Just 1 or 2 vegetarian options and the overall variety too is less. So the food overall is boring.

Things that worked for me:

  1. Location: The location is excellent. It is walking distance from the Pattaya Night Bazaar, 6-7 minutes to Pattaya Beach, plenty of Indian restaurants at 2 minutes distance, many bars and pubs, 8-9 minutes from Mike Shopping mall, 10 minute drive from the Pattaya Beach activity boarding point.
  2. Spacious rooms: The rooms are very spacious with good balconies and sunlight. You can dry your clothes in...

This is a budget friendly three star hotel. The location is excellent. The beach, malls and restaurants are located around it. It is a very old hotel with old amenities. If you are on a strict budget then this place could be an option for you.

I did not feel safe here. To start with I had a very bad incident where there was an additional door in my room which kept being knocked over and over late at night. The day before I checked out there were house keeping staff who walked into my room when I was present in the room and taking a nap. There are no lockers in the room. Dropping the key off at the lobby and valuables in the locker every time I go out is a hassle.

Housekeeping was a nightmare. There were stains and bed bugs on the sheets. I don't think housekeeping did anything at the washroom. There was a water logging issue at the sink. Kettle is provided but coffee or tea isn't. The two bottles of water limit they impose definitely isn't enough and the water tastes weird. One day a housekeeping staff refused to replace the empty water bottle stating time was over. Luckily the central mall is located right in front of the hotel so we purchased our water from there.

Do not stay here if you have small children. There is loud music playing outside all night long. There is only one plug point in the room and it is two point one. I had to walk around in the middle of the night and find an adapter at a 711 store located nearby.

If you have a lot of patience you will excel at communicating with the staff here. Some are rude, some are polite and some of them just stare at you.

The air conditioning had a mind of its own. During day time it hardly used to cool the room and in the night it gets super cold.

If you can't find any other hotel for these rates then go here. The central mall is located right in front of it and the beach is a two minute walk away...
