Five Star Bar Beer — Restaurant in Pattaya City

Smack bang in the middle of Beach Road, this smallish elderly/historic bar is a frequent oasis when we go shopping daytimes because its usually not too busy. It is open fronted so you can sit on a stool and view the beachlife, or at the square bar for a chat with the friendly staff. There are also a scattering of small round tables for those who like chair with a back to it. At night, the bar naturally gets fuller and noisier but nothing out of the ordinary. Drinks prices are a little higher than in bars situated further away from the beach (I.e. inland) but a beach bar's rent will inevitably be higher, so it's only fair and reasonable that they charge more for the view...

1979 was the 1st time I visited 5*Bar! Since then this bar is still authentic, nothing really has changed in the concept and look of the bar, except the increas of the beer prices although, or maybe because of the fact that, there are no more GI's and marines from the anchoring US ships and aircraft carriers. The service personnel is probably from the 70ties too, but still nice and friendly. I still have a drink here whenever...

The. Best. Bar. In. Pattaya. - well thats subjective but for me you cannot beat 5 Star Bar - great afternoon drinking hole with lovely staff - nice view and a good spot to people watch. I have been drinking there for years and was so glad to see that it survived Covid. I drink here every afternoon when I'm in Pattaya and would not consider going anywhere else! Will be back...
