The Flame has been lit.
The much awaited visit to the all new mecca for steaks and more.
Greeted politely with a smile and seated. Very pleasant and neutral ambience. I like restaurants which do not smell of the cuisine on offer.
Loved the menu. Rare to come across a menu with so much to offer and wanting to order it all.
Started with the staple pint of Leo, followed by a Gin n Tonic and a glass of their house wine (Merlot).
A mixed grill appetizer with the meat falling of the bones, followed by the Wagyu rump with a side of parmentier potatoes (so subtle in flavor and perfectly seasoned) and a truly creamy peppercorn sauce. Though I was mentally prepared to be served a medium instead of the ordered medium rare, i was delighted to have my steak exactly as I wanted it. The Wagyu was as creamy as the sauce. Jing jing 🙃
Extremely rare for me to order desserts after such a heavy meal but today is the day!!!
Apple crumble with custard sauce it is and is heavenly to say the least (polished off the bowl).
Well deserved dinner after an alcohol free January, OMAD routine and losing 6 kilos.
My metabolism has been kicked up its...
Bless you Chef for such an amazing enterprise. Cheers to a well trained team!!!
A grand meal for the price 👌🏼😊👊🏼
So much more to taste. I'll be back soon for the prawn cocktail, bruschetta...
Read moreIt was an interesting meal at flame which has a beautiful luxurious style restaurant with a great atmosphere. The starter of smoked salmon and whipping cream was not great as a combination but there was no doubting the quality of the salmon which was tasty. Maybe a different combination would enhance the salmon. The bruschetta was average lacked some real flavours for me and wasn't sure about the quality of the bread. Main course my black angus steak was requested medium rare but sadly came out underseasoned and certainly not medium rare. I must say however that the manager or owner spotted this and was extremely professional and apologetic and offered to replace or discount (which i didn't want as there was nothing wrong with the actual steak and I hate wasting food) he sent over a complimentary drink and apologised several times and on that basis alone I would return to the restaurant. To be fair they had a large party in just before us so maybe this was the reason for the slight error. I absolutely loved the bone broth sauce it was superb and had a side of cheesy chips with bacon and with this sauce became more of a Canadian style poutine which was great. The brocoli came out piping hot and well cooked. Worth a second try before I leave and decent value...

The new kid on the block. This place is giving the local restaurants a run for their money. Owner and staff were very gracious
